This year, once again, Montreal is host to Igloofest, an outdoor electronic music festival like no other. Montrealers and electronic music fans from all around the world brave winter every year to dance and see perform international and local artists under the Montreal's beautiful sky.
The festival takes place in Montreal's Old Port from January 16th to February 8th. As Montreal prepares to let loose under the snow once again this year for the 9th edition, Igloofest orchestrated an absolutely insane program for the attendees.
Montreal, are you ready? Dress with your best one-piece outfit because it is the most wonderful time of the year and MTL Blog makes sure you do not miss out on the craziest action of Igloofest 2015!
J.U.D
Genre: Electro
Performance Date: February 1st, 19:00.
Why you need to be there: J.U.D, Montreal's artistic emperor is an hors-pair musician, graphic designer and DJ. The artist has already six EPs available for a listening session, his sounds bring out a very chill atmosphere and are known to quickly captivate the audience. He was announced part of the programming by Igloofest later than most, but we are extremely pleased to see him perform this year at the Montreal winter festival.

Thomas White
Genre: Electronic.
Performance Date: January 18th, 21:00.
Why you need to be there: Thomas White is not only a DJ and producer but the co-Founder of record label Raw Records. His presence in Montreal's artist scene is undeniable and he proves at every single track release his sounds are on top. If you appreciate urban electronic music, Thomas White has it all for you. A superb local talent to discover.
Robert Robert
Genre: Electronic.
Performance Date: February 6th, 20:00.
Why you need to be there: Robert Robert is known for his fusion between R&B, hip-hop and electro. The recent release of ''StereoChrome'', his new track which was featured on Thump, is a blessing to the ears and the eyes of musical fans. He currently collaborates with Saintwoods franchise player Ryan Playground, who performed at Piknic Electronic last summer and record label Coaton Club's very own hip-hop genius, Jei Bandit.
Luciano
Genre: Dance Music.
Performance Date: February 8th, 22:00.
Why you need to be there: Do we really need to say more than the name? Luciano, who is currently on an international tour and will be performing in Moscow right before his set at Igloofest on the 8th is one of the biggest DJs on earth. Fans from all over the world have repeatedly proved their love for Luciano's dance music over the years and Montreal is lucky to have the chance to see him live this year.
Da-P
Genre: Trap.
Performance Date: January 23rd, 22:00.
Why you need to be there: If there's one thing to say about Da-P, it is that he had a great 2014 year. Recently signed to Los Angeles based record label, his tracks and mix clashed with the industry's titans these last months and he is not about to stop. His soundcloud is a delightful experience, ranging from house electro to deep trap. Be there on January 23rd because you will jump off your feet as soon as his sounds blast out Igloofest's massive speakers.
M. Bootyspoon
Genre: Rhythmic Electronic.
Performance Date: January 18th, 22:00.
Why you need to be there: M.Bootyspoon's sets, local Dj whose last appearance was at the Blue Dog Motel with Teki Latex, puts the groove on wherever they are played. M.Bootyspoon works closely with Project Pablo, also performing at Igloofest. Catch him, January 18th at 22:00!

CASSY
Genre: House, Techno.
Performance Date: January 31st, 20:30.
Why you need to be there: Cassy Britton is a pioneer in the scene, especially in the dance music world. It is a gift to Montreal from Igloofest to have Cassy perform this year. Indeed, her expertise is not to be neglected as she was already, twelve years ago, a resident DJ in the biggest clubs of Berlin. A long lasting career which resolves around her amazing talent to perceive exactly what the crowd will want to hear in her set. A perfect DJ for a perfect festival.
Dave Luxe
Genre: House, Bass Music.
Performance Date: January 23rd, 23:00.
Why you need to be there: Signed by local power house Saintwoods, Dave Luxe, from Belgium and now based in Montreal, built his presence in the scene through remixing well-known tracks and providing a unique atmosphere when his hands touch the turn-tables. Throughout 2014, he toured in Europe and North America with many artists such as Tommy Kruise. We are very pleased he is part of the Igloofest line-up and will not miss out on his set on the Videotron stage! Lastly, Dave has a remix releasing on Raw Records' EP coming out at the end of January and he is working on a remix of Schoolboy Q which is meant to be fire!
Paco Osuna
Genre: Techno.
Performance Date: February 6th, 20:30.
Why you need to be there: Paco Osuna is the definition of a veteran DJ. He released his first produced tracks under a label in 1999, sixteen years ago. His love for techno brought him all around the world, especially in Spain where he built residency in international clubs. Paco Osuna's insane techno set will give you chills, be assured.
BLOND:ISH
Genre: Dance Music.
Performance Date: January 30th, 20:30.
Why you need to be there: The Montreal originated duo has a lot of energy to give and yes, you will like it. They just got back from their Latin American tour, ready to annihilate the Igloofest stage with electro sounds straight out of your best clubbing experience. Good thing you like to party, because they also do and they do it beautifully. Be prepared for an intense experience on January 30th.
Nick Wisdom
Genre: Electro Funk.
Performance Date: January 23rd, 20:00.
Why you need to be there: Nick Wisdom, who is originally from Vancouver and now living in Montreal, is a very special guest to Igloofest this year. His style is absolutely different from others; through his jazzy, electronic, rhythmic sounds, Nick Wisdom dives with you in a peculiar musical dimension. His affiliation with Saintwoods and Bastard Jazz give him a solid foot in the North American music scene with thousands of fans from the US. Nick is also part of Potatohead People and MELT MTL; both greatly talented groups of artists. Furthermore, Wisdom is working with Illa J, brother of producing legend J Dilla, on an upcoming album.

Flosstradamus
Genre: Dance Music
Performance Date: January 18th, 22:30.
Why you need to be there: Between having over 4 million followers on Soundcloud, signing at Fools Gold Records, and constantly collaborating with the biggest artists on earth, Flosstradamus are well-known in the scene and there is not much to be said as to why you need to be at Scene Sapporo when their set starts. Their ability to remix your favorite tracks got them where they are now and they will deliver to Igloofest attendees an energetic show, as always.
Dear Lola
Genre: Electro.
Performance Date: January 18th, 20:00.
Why you need to be there: Co-Founder of Raw Records and Montreal based producer and DJ, Dear Lola is rather new to the scene as an emerging artist, but absolutely loved by all the ones who hear. His recent EP release took Montreal by surprise has it brought a groovy atmosphere where it was needed. Dear Lola works closely with other artists such as WYLN, Dave Luxe and Dead Horse Beats.
Robert Dietz
Genre: House, Techno, Funk.
Performance Date: January 23rd, 20:30.
Why you need to be there: Robert Dietz built his career in Frankfurt, where Luciano, also performing at the festival this edition, dominated for so many years. His sets are well-known to leave you speechless as he transitions incredibly well every single set. Dietz just announced his international tour, from Turin to Montreal. It is an honor to the city to receive such a veteran artist. Do not miss his set!
Graze
Genre: Techno
Performance Date: January 25th, 22:00.
Why you need to be there: This Toronto DJ will give you chills. Graze creates unique sounds diving the audience in a techno environment out of the ordinary. This is a top choice to see this year for their enormous talent, whether it is design or music.
Construct
Genre: Bass Music.
Performance Date: February 1st, 21:00.
Why you need to be there: Construct, founder of High On Beats, knows how to get the crowd going. It is his second time at Igloofest this year and the last time he was there, everybody loved it. He has performed at Osheaga, Le Belmont, Piknic Electronik and many more venues and events in the past year. His bass music will hurt not your ears but your feet as you will jump and trash up Igloofest's dance floor to Construct's bass filled sounds. Lastly, his team of artists from Beaux Degats will be having a graffiti battle live at Igloofest and guests are invited to vote on the best! Be there!

Dead Horse Beats
Genre: Electronic, Hip-Hop
Performance Date: February 6th, 23:00.
Why you need to be there: From Halifax and signed to Black Butter Records, Dead Horse Beats thrives to give you the best of the electronic genre. With a slight hip-hop touch, the producer/DJ from Montreal works closely with many talented artists in Montreal and all over the east coast. His track with Thomas White, Love Somebody, was featured on Thump and was well received by all fans. Be at the Videotron stage on February 6th! Lastly, the artist will be releasing an EP with Black Butter Records in Spring! Stay tuned and don't miss him at the festival!
CRi
Genre: Electroacoustic
Performance Date: February 6th, 21:30.
Why you need to be there: CRi's last EP was proclaimed in the top albums of the year by Nightlife.ca and it is, in fact, an extremely justified opinion. His ability to combine electronic music and acoustic sounds is unmatched. He often collaborates with very talented local artists such as Compton Chic and Helena Deland. In the last months, CRi sounds were promoted by none other than THUMP.
Deetron
Genre: Electronic, Soul.
Performance Date: January 24th, 22:30.
Why you need to be there: Deetron is coming down from Switzerland to bring joy to Montreal with his soulful sounds. The artist just finished his international tour where he ended the 2014 year in London, UK. Reputed for not being signed to any major label after twenty years of making music and touring the world, Deetron is a blessing to Igloofest and the fans will love him!
MANIK
Genre: Electronic, House.
Performance Date: January 25th, 20:30.
Why you need to be there: From New York City, MANIK just performed in Tokyo for New Years Eve. Signed with Ovun, Black Butter Rercords and Anjunadeep, the remix artist whose tastes reach far beyond dancing music will offer Igloofest attendees sound diversity never heard before in a set. MANIK's sets know no boundaries and he likes to prove it!
Gui Boratto
Genre: Electronic
Performance Date: January 16th, 22:30.
Why you need to be there: Gui Boratto is a major international artist to perform during Igloofest 2015. From Sao Paulo, he brings an exotic touch to the electronic genre with smashing tracks such Take Control. Boratto just released his new album "Abaporu" under Kompakt Records and will definitely play his new tracks for his set at the Montreal winter festival. Do not miss the chance to hear freshly new sounds by an international DJ on the opening day of Igloofest 2015.

Justin Martin

Performance Date: January 17th, 22:45.
Why you need to be there: Justin Martin is on a roll right now as he collides in 2015 with many upcoming events. Other than Igloofest, the international artist has played at Holy Ship every year. He is all over the scene at the moment and you definitely do not want to miss out on the chance to see him live. He is also well-known for his collaboration with his brother Christian, forming together the duo "The Martin Brothers" which frequently plays all over North America.
Eekkoo
Genre: Electronic.
Performance Date: February 7th, 22:00.
Why you need to be there: Based in Montreal, Eekkoo is on pure fire right now. His heavy presence in the scene is undeniable and he proves it again with the announcement of tour dates all around North America. Not only does he gets promoted by mau5trap, Eekkoo provides sounds of all genres with a touch of electronic which makes him very likable to many fans. Be on the Videotron stage on February 7th!
Ernesto Ferreyra
Genre: House, Techno.
Performance Date: February 8th, 20:30.
Why you need to be there: Ernesto Ferreyra is signed under the record label of Luciano, his mentor, also performing on the same day at the festival. Rising star of the Cadenza Family and now currently living in Berlin to perform on a weekly basis in the biggest clubs of Europe, Ernesto is not to sleep on this year at Igloofest.
Oliver Heldens
Genre: Deep House
Performance Date: January 25th, 22:00.
Why you need to be there: At 17 years old, Oliver Heldens was signed to major record label Spinnin' Records. He then moved on in his career to become one of the biggest DJs on earth. On January 25th, Montreal will have the chance to see him perform live and hear his finessed and complex sounds. 2014 was a massive year for the young producer who released remixes which hit top charts internationally. You hope he plays them this year at Igloofest, trust us.
