It's Le Burger Week right now, which means the city is full of burger spirit. To take things up a notch, a Montreal food truck is giving away free burgers this weekend — and all you have to do is show up and chow down.
To get your free burger, head to Winneburger at Jean-Talon Market on Saturday or Sunday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The earlier the better, though, because they're only giving out burgers while supplies last.
According to an email from Winneburger, each burger will contain a secret ingredient. But you won't find out what it is until you get there.
"The FREE burger is a burger with a secret ingredient. People who stop by [this] Food Truck will find out on the spot!" the email says.
Winneburger is located in a converted '80s RV that's been transformed into a commercial kitchen. It belongs to the folks at Nouveau Palais so — not only will your burger be free — you know it'll be damn good, too.
Friends, how many of you are in the mood for a mimosa right. TF. Now?
It's okay if you are. I truly believe there is nothing on this earth like the magical blend of morning champagne and orange juice; plus, the fact that it's served up with the world's greatest meal (brunch) is super fitting.
There are tons of great places to get booze with your brunch in the city; a select few stand out, though.
Although this spot technically only opens up in the summer, it's always good to keep in mind - because TBH, the boozy brunches here are what legends are made of.
Guys, Caesars are awesome! Granted, I'm more of a tequila shots type of gal, but there's just something about a good, hearty Caesar (hopefully topped with half an ocean of seafood) that unites all drink lovers, TBH.
Luckily for us, we live in Montreal. Which means we have a whole rainbow of tasty bloody caesars to choose from... and while there's no such thing as a bad Caesar, a select few fantastic ones stand out from the bunch.
Come for the brunch, stay for the Caesars. Bonus: Nouveau Palais is also open super late, so you can enjoy your bloody caesars pretty much whenever the mood might strike.
An awesome pub situated in the Plateau, this spot serves up some seriously good food and cocktails - their bloody caesar is simple, but straight-up awesome.
This Rosemont pub is lively, super fun, and known for serving up some amazing food. Their bloody caesars are no exception, and they come with a whole bunch of tasty crab legs on top, too!
This Plateau restaurant serves up some seriously mind-blowing tartare; but I think the true star of this spot is their tasty, refreshing, and super delicious bloody caesar cocktail.
The OG amazing bloody caesar cocktail in Montreal, if you're a fan of the Caesar, then you absolutely need to try L'Gros Luxe's version. Not only is the drink itself amazing, but it's stacked high with all the best things in the world, TBH.
Okay, if you love seafood, then you absolutely need to get yourself to Lucille, ASAP. Not only is every single seafood dish here on point, but their delicious Caesars are topped high with oysters, crab legs, shrimp, and pure happiness.
I honestly think SuWu is a paradise for anyone who loves to have fun. Not only is this spot incredibly vibrant and awesome, but they do one killer weekend brunch - including their spicy, tasty bloody caesars.
Honestly, no list on bloody caesars is complete without Montreal's Garde Manger. This drink is mixed to absolute perfection, and as an added bonus, it's topped with some incredibly tasty stuff (like crab legs!) too.
Guys, I know it might sometimes seem like Montreal cuisine is focused on poutine, bagels, and smoked meat. But, for how amazing these staples truly are, there's a whole world of delicious food in the city for us to try.
Like hamburgers. In Montreal, we're very lucky to have tons and tons of awesome burger restaurants - and actual hamburgers - that are in a category of their own. And whether you're a seasoned burger connoisseur, or a burger newbie, there are a couple of hamburgers you should totally eat in the Montreal ASAP.
Few breakfast foods are as satisfying as waffles. Whether you love your store-bought Eggos, prefer them Belgian-style, or always order one that comes with extravagant toppings and tons of whipped cream, a good waffle can satisfy pretty much any craving.
With tons of amazing brunch spots throughout the city, you're guaranteed to find some of the absolute best waffles right here in Montreal. And don't be limited by the idea that waffles are only for breakfast; some places serve a waffle dish coupled with fried chicken - a culinary masterpiece that's just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to savoury waffles.
So, on your next 'treat yourself' occasion, pick one of the spots below to enjoy an incredible waffle or two (or three). The most important thing to remember: there is no limit to decadence when it comes to waffle dishes.
All would not be right with the world if I didn't name Engaufrez-Vous as one of the best waffle places in Montreal. As their name suggests, they specialize in waffles, both savoury and sweet, as well as other classic breakfast dishes. If you're looking for a go-to decadent brunch spot, and you love waffles, Engaufrez-Vous is about to become your best friend.
Chicken and waffles anyone? If your answer to that is anything other than yes, I don't know what kind of monster you are. The insanely popular chicken and waffles dish at beloved Faberge is enough to make any waffle skeptic a believer. This delicious brunch spot is a must for both new and veteran chicken and waffle fans.
Are you gluten intolerant and love waffles, but feel like waffles don't love you back? Not to worry, because Regine Cafe serves gluten free waffles so you can safely and happily continue your love affair with this delectable breakfast food. Beware of the long lines here on weekends; if you don't have the patience to wait for your waffle, try going on a weekday.
A breakfast banh mi made with waffles? Sound weird, tastes amazing. These kinds of crazy-yet-delicious food combinations are commonplace at Prohibition, a trendy eatery that is any foodie's personal heaven. You can also try their version of chicken and waffles, which are actually made with french toast, but still incredibly tasty.
How perfect do those waffles look? These artfully crafted circles of delight are made fast and fresh at Maté Latte, a go-to Montreal waffle spot. The sweet, chocolate infused waffles are especially delicious here, so if you're in need of a serious sugar fix, consider it taken care of.
A beautiful spot with classic, healthy breakfast options, the waffles at Arts cafe are cooked to that perfect fluffy texture we all love. If you prefer savoury waffles, or enjoy simpler rather than decadent brunch dishes, Arts Cafe is an ideal choice.
One of the best features waffles have? Those perfect square grooves that are just begging to be filled with maple syrup or chocolate-y goodness. Belgian waffles in particular have the best grooves and edges for extravagant toppings, and when it comes to decadent fillings, Suite 88 is where you need to be. This chocolatier undoubtedly has the best sweet toppings for your waffle, and the artisanal chocolate is absolutely to die for.
I really don't think any explanation is necessary in this case - the above photo speaks for itself. From apple caramel to the classic Nutella strawberry waffle, you simply can't go wrong with Gauffre Mignonne. You'll fall in love with this cozy spot instantly, and no doubt you'll return.
Although I was hesitant to include chain restaurants on this list, you simply can't deny the quality and decadence of the waffle dishes at Cacao 70. A specialized chocolatier/restaurant, you're more likely to head here for a dessert waffle rather than a breakfast one. That being said, there's no time restriction on the enjoyment of a waffle, so go ahead and treat yourself.
A local chain favourite for breakfast and brunch, Universel certainly delivers on the waffle front. You can enjoy one on its own, or paired with eggs, fresh fruit, and bacon or sausage. If you want a full brunch but are also craving the perfect waffle, Universel can combine the two seamlessly for you.
With locations all over the city, L'Oeufrier guarantees a delicious waffle is never too far away. You can get the classic fresh fruit, whipped cream, and chocolate toppings, but a highlight at L'Oeufrier is the eggs benedict dish served with a waffle. With two brunch favourites combined, you just can't go wrong.
This diner serves elevated comfort food, including their fabulous chicken and waffles dish. If you're not exactly in the mood for this sweet-savoury combo, however, they also offer waffles with caramelized apples and ice cream. Either way, Nouveau Palais unquestionably has some of the best waffles in the city.
Well, we have poutine so why not have chicken and waffles! This may sound odd to the ordinary taste buds but trust me, it is absolutely delicious! The combination of delightful chicken and sweet waffles makes your taste buds sing!
This dish originated in the South and has managed to make it's way to Montreal. Now, Montreal actually has some of the best chicken and waffle restaurants in all of Canada! I strongly suggest checking them out with your friends this summer.
You are truly in store for a great treat if you check out some of these restaurants that I have listed below for you! So get ready in the morning, or in the afternoon, to have a great chicken and waffle meal that you won't regret!
For some great brunch, check out Chez Bouffe for some chicken and waffles! They serve their chicken with caramelised unions and maple syrup for those who have a sweet tooth. It is absolutely delicious and one of their most popular dishes!
For a Southern Georgian twist, check out Le Fumoir Rubs Smokehouse! You get three pieces of fried chicken served with Belgian waffles and Jack Daniels maple syrup. It is absolutely delicious and a sweet treat for that special someone!
At Dinette Triple Crown, your food is packed up for you in a lovely basket that you and your friends may take outside and share a picnic. They have the absolute best and freshest chicken and with one bite you know that this is Southern home food. Their chicken and waffles are made for you and by you so don't miss out!
For some sweet and savoury chicken waffles, hit up Le Gros Jambon. You will devour your dish in no time. They have a great ambience and even better food so don't miss out on some yummy chicken and waffles.
If you want some great comfort food at a reasonable price, then check out Prohibition Montreal. Enjoy brunch or dinner with chicken and a sweet piece of french toast! Prohibition Montreal is a bit different than the rest since they serve chicken with french toast. So if you know that you love chicken and waffles then check out chicken and french toast!
If you would like a great lunch with some fresh fruit, then order the chicken and waffles dish at Fabergé. It's a great treat for that special someone. So don't miss out on having a delightful lunch at Fabergé.
If you like buttermilk chicken and fresh waffles, then the Sparrow is the place to be for brunch. They have delicious chicken nuggets served with waffle bits that you will fall in love with! The presentation is fabulous just like the food!
Make your weekend brunch special by taking your date to Nouveau Palais for chicken and waffles. This dish is only offered during weekend brunches so get planning! It is tasteful, elegant, homey, and yummy all in one!
For some more french toast twists, check out SuWu in Montreal! They offer what seems to be a genius dish too their costumers. This dish includes french toast, chunks of fresh chicken, and a sweet blueberry sauce.
I suggest trying Deville's BBQ Southern waffle sandwich! Trust me, it is absolutely great and a fabulous dish for lunch. It is personally one of my favourites as it is filled with more than chicken and waffles. It also has crispy unions, bacon, and much more!
The Southern Fried Chicken Salad is one of Deville's specialities! The bowl includes great vegetables, fried buttermilk chicken crispers, bacon, shredded cheese, and waffle croutons that are coated with bourbon pear dressing. It's a "healthier" option for those who would like something a bit litter on their plate!
Offered seasonally, I suggest checking out the Irish Embassy Pub & Grill. They have great chicken and waffles it's just that their menu change regularly so it may be hard to get it. However, It is always worth a shot!
Ah, the hamburger. Is there a more deliciously classic food out there? There's just something so right about them. No matter what, a good burger is a good time, and eating one pretty much always guarantees you finish with a big, satisfied smile on your face.
Although there are many different types, few come close to the beautiful simplicity of a cheeseburger. A juicy patty stuffed in a bun, topped with melting cheese? Uh, yeah. Sign me up, please.
Thankfully, Montreal is bursting with many places to get a simple, yet mouthwatering, cheeseburger.
Alright, for those of you who have been keeping up with my articles, you know that I have a really big obsession with Chez Tousignant. But my affection for this place is well-earned: Their food is mind-blowing.
Pretty much everything here is made in-house, with fresh, high-quality ingredients, which translates to one seriously juicy, seriously flavourful cheeseburger. I could go on and on about Chez Tousignant's cheeseburger, but at the end of the day, you're just going to have to get yourself there (ASAP) and experience it for yourself.
Friends, do you believe that there's beauty in simplicity? No? Well, one taste of Uniburger's cheeseburger will have you changing your mind - and fast. Served up hot, juicy, and incredibly fresh, bursting with an unmistakably delicious, savoury flavour, Uniburger's contribution to Montreal's cheeseburger scene will absolutely change the game for you.
If you often find yourself craving an awesome cheeseburger late at night, then I've got some great news for you. Nouveau Palais, located in Montreal's Plateau, has one seriously mouthwatering cheeseburger on their late-night menu. Their beef patties are incredibly flavourful and are the perfect backdrop to a pair of fresh buns and melty, yummy cheese.
The only drawback? This menu is offered only on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Which really only means that you've found your new late-night weekend spot, TBH.
Alright guys, prepare yourselves for this one. Not only is Copoli's cheeseburger incredibly delicious, with tasty, juicy beef, fresh and fluffy buns, and gooey, melty cheese... but it's huge. Like, seriously huge. A cheeseburger from Copoli is about 8 inches, and served up sliced in a box (because you can't fit it in your mouth any other way, TBH). But it really doesn't matter how big it is, these burgers are so good that you'll want another one (or two), whether it's 8 inches or not.
Picture this: A thick, juicy, perfectly cooked chunk of beef, placed on the softest, yummiest hamburger buns you've ever tried... and then, to tie the whole thing together, an explosion of melted cheesy goodness places right on the top.
Sound too good to be true? Well, Burger de Ville's cheeseburger is all of this and much, much more - especially considering that you can top your morsel of pure awesome with a plethora of their tasty toppings you so choose. Magic? You know it.
Have you ever had the succulent, well-seasoned, mind-blowing taste of a Picks burger? Yeah, count yourselves lucky. There is nothing on this earth quite like the flavour of one of their yummy burger. And if you're a cheese lover, the news gets even better.
Although the Picks hamburger is amazing by itself, it only gets better and better with cheese... and thankfully, there are six different cheeses on their menu for you to choose from. So, go ahead. Top that juicy burger with brie, or swiss, or provolone. Go nuts, and enjoy.
I've given Tablier Rouge a bunch of love in the past, but trust me, my adoration for this place is well-deserved. This Ahuntsic eatery is ace at serving up hot and juicy burgers, and although their specialty burgers are pure works of art (like their "crise de coeur" burger, with a cheese-stuffed patty, bacon, and pulled pork), their simple cheeseburger is actually so delicious that it will legit bring you to tears.
If that doesn't sound like a meal worth having, I don't know what is.
Although Dilallo is famous for its Buck Burger, trust me when I say that it's the cheeseburger that's the real star of the show. Their hamburgers in general are incredibly tasty - but that cheeseburger is really just phenominally amazing.
Fresh, seasoned to perfection, and amazingly juicy, their cheeseburger is also topped with mustard, relish, lettuce, and tomato (and served on their signature delicious, upside hamburger bun) for a simply delicious cheeseburger experience that won't soon be forgotten.
Notre Boeuf De Grace is a super popular burger spot in NDG, and for one very good reasons! Their hamburgers are Out. Of. This. World. They specialize in more deluxe-style hamburgers (and cheeseburgers), like their "Cheesus" burgers, which feature Umami sauce and grilled-cheese sandwiches as buns (!!!).
But if you're feeling something a bit simpler, you can always have a taste of their fresh, juicy hamburgers, topped with anything you want. So, fans of cheeseburgers, rejoice. This one's for you.
Sweet Jukebox Burgers - Home of the poutine hot dog. Jukebox is no stranger to innovative fast-food dishes; and although their deluxe hamburgers are amazing, their "Dean Cheese" cheeseburger? Yeah. It's a thing of beauty. Their Dean Cheese comes with Jukebox's standard crisp, tasty toppings (like pickles, lettuce, and tomatoes), and your choice of meat, patty, and bun.
Of course, their classic, juicy beef patty topped with cheddar cheese on a white bun will forever reign supreme to me.
Alright, friends, are you ready for me to lay down some cold, hard truths? Good. Get ready for this. Are you ready? Okay, here it comes: Brunch is often at its best when it's enjoyed with a little dash of alcohol.
I know, I know - brunch is pretty amazing on its own. But when you add a little morning mimosa to your favourite eggs Benny dish? Magic happens, my friends. Pure, breakfast/lunch magic. In Montreal, we're pretty lucky to have a bunch of awesome places that serve up a mean mimosa and an awesome brunch. If you're having a little trouble finding these places, though, then don't worry. I've got you, my fellow brunch lover. Read on for Best Montreal Mimosa Brunch Restaurants 2016.
If you're looking for one of the most perfect spots in Montreal to enjoy a delicious brunch, and an even better mimosa, then look no further. You've found Le Cartet. Often hailed as the go-to brunch spot for those of us who are extra thirsty in the morning, their menu consists of classic brunch fare with high-class twists (like their Brunch Cartet: scrambled eggs served up with salmon cake and figs, to name a few) - which, of course, all go perfectly with a glass of the bubbly (and orangy, I guess). Mimosa lovers, rejoice.
Guys, I'm not going to lie to you. You can find me indulging in a boozy brunch at Zagrum on average once a week, which is probably too often to be getting tipsy in the morning but I'm an adult and I don't mind if you judge me for that. Plus, I can't help it. The brunch fare at Zagrum is seriously fresh and high quality, and their dishes are super unique and flavourful. Plus, their mimosas are crisp and refreshing, with just the right amount of kick. Brunch goals? Brunch goals.
At this stage in the game, the chances are very high that you know all about Sparrow. Its fresh, delicious, and classic dishes helped propel it to the forefront of Montreal's brunch scene (breakfast banh-mi, holla at me); but if you also happen to enjoy amazing mimosas, then you're going find another reason to fall in love with Sparrow all over again. Much like their food, their mimosas are awesome - and, added bonus, they come in classic, apple cider, and blood orange (!!!) varieties.
Two words, my fiends: bottomless mimosas. That's right. Not only does Communion offer up some seriously fresh and flavourful brunch dishes - including delicious staples such as eggs Benedict and BLTs - but for a super fair price, you can kick your brunch into high gear by indulging in their "all you can drink mimosa" option. I know they say you can't buy happiness - but you can buy endless mimosas at Communion, so they're kind of wrong.
I've shown Sel Gras a fair amount of love in the past. And with their top quality ingredients, classic-yet-contemporary dishes, and upscale, laidback vibe, it's no wonder why they'd also be one of Montreal's top spots for brunch. If that wasn't enough, the real clincher? Their refreshing, crisp mimosas, featuring freshly pressed juice and just a pinch of actual, concentrated happiness.
In English, bon vivant basically means someone who knows how to live well - which is super fitting, because I truly believe that in order to be happy in life, you have to stop by Le Bon Vivant for brunch fairly regularly. Their brunch menu is super varied, with dishes ranging from expertly created huevos rancheros to a Grand Marnier fruit flambéd french toast creation; but no matter what you pick, everything is fresh and super flavourful. Of course, their bubbly mimosas are a thing of beauty, too, making this a surefire spot for complete and total brunch bliss.
Although Nouveau Palais is slightly more known for its awesome hamburgers, one of the biggest standouts of this Montreal institution? Their brunch. With a super solid selection of awesome, tasty, and original brunch options - such as their famous lumberjack sandwich - Nouveau Palais is definitely going to be one of your new favourite brunch spots in the city. Of course, they also score huge bonus points due to the fact that they serve up some seriously legit mimosas for under $7. New fave found? New fave found.
If you're a fan of taking in beautiful views while you nosh on delicious brunch fare, then I've got some great news for you. This Verdun brunch spot is about to make you very, very happy. With a huge breakfast menu sporting fresh and tasty classics, and delicious, refreshing mimosas, this spot is sure to have your new favourite brunch dish. The best part, though? The view. Crescendo overlooks the St. Lawrence river, meaning that you can enjoy a seriously gorgeous view while enjoying a seriously delicious breakfast... and washing it all down with a seriously awesome mimosa. Winning on all levels? You know it.
Okay, friends. If you like brunch and live in Montreal - or even if you're visiting Montreal - then the chances are super high that you've heard about Fabergé. A super popular brunch spot that's very well known for their super unique and delicious dishes (s'mores waffle, what's good?), it would be kind of redundant to focus on how brilliantly executed, flavourful, fresh, and perfectly cooked the food at this Plateau eatery is. Instead, I'll just say this: if you're a fan of brunch, you need to get yourself here, and you absolutely need to wash down one of their beautiful brunch offerings with an equally beautiful glass of their mimosa, which includes pomegranate, litchi, and peach flavours (just to name a few).
Of course, no list of delicious mimosa brunch spots in Montreal would be complete without L'Atelier d'Argentine. This cozy, classy Old Montreal spot serves up all-you-can-drink mimosas for a very fair $30 (roughly). And although having as many of L'Atelier's yummy mimosas as you can possibly drink for one super fair price sounds like the best thing to happen to anyone in the history of mornings, the true standout is their awesome brunch. Featuring Spanish inspired dishes, high quality ingredients, and a huge helping of pure awesome, L'Atelier is sure to become your next favourite (boozy) brunch spot.
A breakfast sandwich doesn't need to be made solely with bread. Thinking outside of the bread-box leads to some magical breakfast creations, and while we got nothing against good 'ol white toast, there are more delicious/creative types of carbs to sandwich-ify. We could be Paula Deen about it and use donuts instead of bread, but rather than have a heart attack this early in the morning, we're opting for waffles.
Waffles are the perfect substitute for bread when it comes to making a breakfast sandwich. Fluffy and firm, waffles can absorb all the gooeyness of eggs and cheese without falling apart. Slightly, but not too, sweet, waffles also pair well whatever type of breakfast food you throw in, from smoky bacon to sugary maple syrup.
Alaska From Scratch created the epic Waffle Breakfast Sandwich you see above, stuffed with sausage, eggs, cheddar cheese, and doused in a not-so-healthy amount of maple syrup. Making your own is pretty simple, just make some waffles and fill two up with the aforementioned ingredients.
Waffles breakfast sandwiches can come in many forms, like the two below, from reddit and Chow.com, the latter being a more savory BLT version. Fast food chains like Jack in the Box even have waffle sammies on their menu, 'cuz they know how people go nuts for waffles in the morning. We don't know of a Montreal establishment that makes a legit waffle sandwich, but the Lumberjack sandwich at Noveau Palais, a breakfast sandwich with pancakes as bread, comes pretty close.
Photo cred - Eva Rees What better way to start your evening than with a Caesar? As always, Montreal boasts an exceptional array of options. These aren’t just any old glasses of Clamato juice with a splash of booze and a hint of Tobasco. No siree! This Canadian cocktail, invented in Calgary and stampeded its way across the territories, find some of its best mixes here in our fair city. Here’s a list of some of Montreal’s best...
In the humble neighborhood of NDG, this bar/restaurant, named after B.B. King’s guitar, serves a Caesar with fresh seafood and delicious olives. Who better to turn to for the best than celeb chef Chuck Hughes? Truly a Caesar of champions in both its size and flavor. Served in an old timey lager glass, it is filled to the brim. Did we mention they free pour the vodka? And we mustn’t forget to mention it comes with a giant crab claw to enjoy! Looking for a classic Caesar? Look no further. No tricks or fuss. Just a good old fashioned version of the cocktail we love. Take a trip to the Mile End and sip on co-owner Jacques Seguin’s sweet and savory Caesar. Using the freshest of ingredients and nicely topped with a big dollop of horseradish. Great vibe and good music to boot! What would a list of top MTL Caesar’s be without some mention of a hip new bar on St. Laurent? A bit pricey (a whopping $11) but it comes packed with extras. Pepperoncini, pickles, and olives oh my! This is a very Worcestershire-saucy Caesar if there ever was one. It’s popular for a 5 à 7, where house cocktails are on special and double ounces are half off. This bar just off of St. Cats has an amazing terrasse and offers one of the most well balanced Caesars. Nicely priced at $6.25. Not your average Caesar. Special ingredients include red wine, olive juice and real horseradish. This happening bar on Roy knows how to treat a beloved drink with love. At only $7 it is a sure fire tasty treat! It’s no frills, but all thrills. A Caesar with a kick, their mix includes horseradish. Grade A Caesar should be spicy, if nothing else. Definitely a great aperitif and the flavors will sit on your mouth and pack a great punch. In their renowned Brazil Caesar, one can expect cachaça in place of vodka as a tropical interpretation of the drink. This makes the cocktail particularly potent. They also use a spicy Asian lemon to add a little sourness to the Bloody. Step aside caipirinha! Head here on Oyster Thursday when Caesars are more elaborate than ever. Served with a tiger shrimp and oyster for the occasion, this is a decadent Caesar if there ever was one. A sample concoction includes Clamato, celery salt, Smirnoff, lemon, chipotle Tabasco and Sriracha. Did we mention sometimes there’s smoked meat involved? How much more Montreal can you get?
What's the best way to help a hangover? Brunch, obviously. But what's the best way to totally cure a hangover? Well, that's be drunch, the magical fusion of drinking and the meal of brunch. Brunch spots are everywhere in Montreal, but drunch isn't quite so widespread. If you've never drunch'd, or if you're looking for a new spot to mack on some mimosas and eggs, below are Montreal's drunk brunch locations. Props to Thrillist for providing most of the info. When it comes to greasy-meaty-carb filled goodness, chicken and waffles reigns supreme. A classic Southern dish, C&W can be found throughout the city of Montreal, in many shapes and forms. If you've had chicken and waffles you know what I'm saying. If you haven't, read on to find out where to get them in your face right now.
Don't think Old Montreal is too classy for a southern classic. With a crispy batter and a meaty interior, Le Gros Jambon does a great looking C&W that's a feast for the eyes and the tongue.Switch things up at Prohibition where they perfectly pair crisp chicken with fluffy challah French toast, and check in for a free pretzel, cookie or coffee to boot!Fabergé lists their C&W dish on the lunch menu, so you best not miss it. Don't be fooled though, served alongside homefries and fruit, it makes the perfect breakfast/brunch choice. We've already covered how great the Sparrow is at brunch, and they maintain that rep with their buttermilk C&W. Making many fried golden nuggets rather than a huge chunk, the dish looks kind of small but don't be fooled by the photo, it's incredibly filling!Weekend-only brunch at Nouveau Palais is made extra special for their infamous chicken and waffles. This diner-bar does it right, with big pieces of crispy fried chicken and basic but delicious waffles.Want all the deliciousness of chicken and waffles with slightly less guilt? Try out Deville Diner Bar's 'Southern Fried Chicken Salad, a heaping bowl of mixed greens and veggies, fried buttermilk chicken crispers, bacon, shredded cheese, and sweet waffle croutons all covered in a bourbon pear dressing.
