Divorce can be ruff.

He got the Poäng armchair from Ikea; she got the Keurig K-Cup coffee maker, boxes of assorted coffee pods included. He took the car; she got the boat. He got the crystal decanter glass set (a gift from her sister), though it was mostly for show as he liked drinking straight from the bottle (an early red flag she ignored).

In a press release from the Montreal police on December 1, we're told that "Criminals have taken advantage of the increase in online transactions since the beginning of the pandemic."

At the moment, the SPVM is warning of four major online scams: calls about your debit card, fake iPhones, buying pets online, and video game consoles sales.

The idea of being lost and alone in nature for six weeks — within close proximity to bears, cougars and wolves — is terrifying to think about. But one Quebec resident has done just that, and he's lived to tell the tale. He also happens to be a one-year-old tabby cat named Lewis.

When Lewis's owner Khristine Lahaie and her boyfriend set-off for a summer road trip through Alberta, she said they decided to bring their two cats along with them: Mighty and Lewis.

Every dog owner knows that their dog is the best, most precious dog in the whole wide world. They might not be the highest pedigree or have Crufts-levels of dog talent, but part of being a good pet parent is solidly believing that your dog deserves the creme de la creme 100% of the time. Saying no to those little faces is just NOT an option.

Those of you who follow me on social media, or who know me in real life - or who've even seen me stop cold in my tracks while walking down the street in order to ogle a stranger's dog - know that I'm a little bit obsessed with animals.

You also probably know the heartbreaking story of my dog, who ran away after spending 14 awesome years by my side. She was the best dog anyone could have asked for, and since she left, I've been trying to get more involved with/informed about animal shelters and charities however I can.

Montreal, in collaboration with the city's vets, will be hosting a microchipping day for dogs and cats on Sunday October 25. All microchips, which are usually $75, will only be $20. Now that's an amazing price for something that will ensure your pet finds you again if they're ever lost.

Registration for appointments is running right now and goes until October 9th, or until all appointments have been assigned, so make sure you book yours quickly! To sign up, your pet must already have an animal license (which are required in Montreal anyway).

Okay, so I fully understand that the dream of wanting to surround yourself with endless puppies is a wonderful one to have, but actually trying to do it in real life is in no way going to end well. Unfortunately, a few Quebec residents tried to do just that.

A home in Mont-Laurier was the scene of a severe pet hoarding case, with 67 animals being seized yesterday. Of the 67 animals that were removed from the home, there were 49 dogs, 15 cats and 3 chickens. Nobody, and I mean nobody, needs that many pets. Some of them were in cages, while other were roaming free around the cramped and dirty house.

It can get pretty hot and muggy in Montreal, and our pets don't exactly know how to stop themselves from getting heat exhaustion, so it's up to us to help them out. Sure it might take a little extra effort, but we're certain they'll thank you for it!

Here are 12 ways to keep your four legged friend nice and cool this summer:

“Man’s best friend” is a term that seems to ring hollow in the city of Montreal. In the whole province of Quebec actually. It’s a real problem for our furry friends. There seems to be a lack of proper action when it comes to caring for the provinces puppies.
