With only a few hours left before the Uber-Quebec deal ends, people are starting to get nervous.

When the threat to leave Quebecwas first made, no one wanted to believe it. But now that's we're so close to the deadline and Quebec still isn't backing down, it's starting to look like Uber will in fact be leaving Quebec after all.

Don’t have quite enough cash on you to cover your cab ride? No sweat, just whip out your Opus card and you’ll get 25% the total fare.

That is, at least, what some Montreal taxi drivers are promising.

All relationships come with struggles but, I thought that I would share with you the struggles of dating a guy from the West Island. My current boyfriend, of 3 years, lives in Pierrefond so I have lived all of these struggles. I currently like in the Downtown Montreal area which poses many struggles in our relationship. But you know that they say, distance doesn't matter.

Many other Montrealer's are also dating people in the West Island so, I have decided to make this list of struggles so that we can all laugh at how true most of these struggles are. Most of these struggles will apply to those dating a guy from the West Island of Montreal but some of these are also just personal. A majority of them have to do with distance or the ultimate lifestyle of Westies.

As you may or may not know there is yet another Uber protest going on. And once again, instead of trying to get sympathy from the public taxi drivers have decided to act like a bunch of drunken infantile savages on Halloween.

As you can see from the video there are a dozen taxi drivers standing at the entrance of a building and the minute they spot an Uber car dropping off a client, they started a vandalizing the vehicle.

Montreal taxi drivers have had enough.

No longer waiting for the local or provincial government to step in, the Montreal taxi union filed an injunction yesterday to outright ban Uber in the city and all of Quebec.

It's a very interesting time to be a cab driver in Montreal. Due to the dawn of Uber, lines have been drawn in the sand, with the taxi industry pitting itself against the ride-hailing app.

And we, the consumers, are caught in the middle. To be honest, most of us side with Uber, thanks to its rather positive public identity and modern service conveniences, like paying directly to your credit card.

Traditional taxi drivers may lack the easy-to-use interface and speedy service credited to Uber drivers, but that doesn't mean they're out of the customer service ball game entirely.

In a bid to simultaneously criticize Uber while luring in lost customers, Montreal cabbies have gotten a little creative, and are now selling beer, cigarettes, wine, candy, and more, right from their cars.

With the rise in popularity of Uber, many people are starting to consider it as either a full or part time job to make a little extra income. But you might be wondering if it's the right job for you. Is it dangerous? Is it boring? What sort of things can you expect to encounter during your shift?

Well it turns out being an Uber driver can be pretty interesting at times, here are some of the strangest things that ever happened in Uber cars.

The public image of Montreal's taxi industry hasn't been all that pristine lately.

For one, all the traditional taxi companies, and their employees, the drivers, are constantly being compared to Uber in terms of service. Some may argue against Uber, but no one can deny the superior convenience of the transport app.

I've been religiously taking Uber for the last couple of months and noticed a funky recurrence. A lot of Uber drivers try to flirt and even shamelessly hit on their clients. Don't get me wrong though, I love Uber!

I enjoy how clean the cars are, how convenient the app and payment are, how you can stream your own music - it's all really great! However, I feel like, since Uber drivers are normal guys who, in general, have other full time jobs, they tend to not act very professional with their clients.

Taking a taxi in Montreal may never be the same, thanks to a whack load of new regulations passed by the City of Montreal's city council that were passed last night, reports Radio-Canada. Slated to come into effect at the dawn of the new year (so January 1st), the new rules for taxi drivers are a mix of sensible and straight up nonsensical.

Lets start with what actually works:

Starting today, taxi drivers are obligated to accept credit and debit cards. A long overdue change for the industry, but despite this change, I will never take a taxi again for as long as I can help it.

To explain why, allow me to discuss a few horror stories I've experienced over the years.
