Taking A Date Skating At Montreal's Beaver Lake Is The Most Romantic Thing You Can Do This Winter

I have loved skating since I was a little kid. I even took figure skating lessons for like 5 years. So I'm always up for spending a couple hours at the rink on a sunny winter day.

Even if you're bad at skating, it can still be really fun! Trust me, there's just something about gliding around on the ice as the snow is falling that is pure magic.

Skating on Beaver Lake is a Montreal winter tradition. The setting is absolutely magical, surrounded by all the beauty of a snow covered Mount Royal.

After you glide around hand-in-hand for a while, warm up with some hot chocolate. Trust me, your lady is going to love this.

Going skating here is also free, so there's absolutely no excuse to look past this romantic date idea. Renting a pairof skates will cost you about $10 though, so if you have your own definitely bring them!

The rink is usually open from 9am until 9pm on week nights and 9am until 10pm on weekends, and they have different musical themes on certain nights, so be sure to check the schedule for details on that.

The rink usually opens in December depending on the weather. But, with the snow we saw this morning in Montreal, I think we can all be pretty confident that Beaver Lake will be freezing over sooner rather than later this year!

Where: Baver Lake

To keep up to date on when it will open see the official Les Amis de la Montagne website.
