This year, Montreal is getting some fantastic looking restaurants that offer food for every taste, palette, and, most importantly, budget. Students, we got you.
That said, check out some of these brand new restaurants that just opened this month or are set to open this fall. We are looking forward to trying all of them!
1. Mckiernan Luncheonette
Opening date: Opened September 11th
Where: 5524 Saint-Patrick St // Point St-Charles
This brand new spot just opened in the very trendy and up-and-coming area of Point-St-Charles. Although I haven't tried it yet, their Instagram page already has a huge following at over 6K followers. That's because this restaurant is brought to you by some big names in Montreal food.
2. Kupfert & Kim
Opening date: Opening early October
Where: 417 Rue Notre-Dame Ouest // Griffintown
A new mega healthy spot is about to land in town! This is a vegan and gluten-free chain with six locations already opened in Toronto. Montreal's always trendy Griffintown borough is super excited about getting a Kupfert & Kim to call its own!
3. Fugazzi Pizza
Opening date: sometime this fall, according to Instagram "when you least expect it"
Where: 1886 rue Centre // Point St-Charles
Point-Saint-Charles is the place to open a restaurant apparently. A new pizza spot that looks absolutely delish is about to open on the "downtown" street of the neighborhood, Rue Centre. One look at their Insta and I'm already convinced. I'm talking rustic pizza cooked in a wood fire oven. Can't wait to try it!
4. Saint Sushi
Opening date: Sometime in November
Where: Westmount
Hands-down some of the best sushi I've ever had in Montreal. This creative sushi joint is expanding and opening up a second location in Westmount this fall. Really looking forward to having access to amazing sushi in the west part of the city!
5. Pho Real
Opening date: Officially open the 27th of September.
Where: 2044b Metcalfe Street // Downtown
It was only a matter of time before someone opened a restaurant called "Pho Real." This one is officially opening in downtown Montreal this week, and it's already looking like a hit with the business lunch crowd.
6. Restaurant LE XVI XVI
Opening date: Officially open!
Where: 1616 rue Sherbrooke Ouest // Downtown

Word on the street is that this restaurant has a robot bartender. No joke! Check out their Instagram page and see for yourself. It even has a name, R1-B1. We can quickly see by scoping out their Instagram page that the plates are little works of art; French-driven with a contemporary spin. Again, can't wait to check it out!
