The Exact Dates When All The Disney Movies Are Leaving Netflix Canada

In November of this year, Disney will launch its very own streaming platform known as Disney+. The new site will have exlcusive rights to all Disney content — films from the archives as well as new releases.

This means that all Disney productions, from Pixar, to Marvel, to Star Wars, are going to disappear from Netflix. As a result, Disney is projected to usurp much of Netflix's subscriber base.

Though there may be some hope that at least a few titles will one day return to Netflix, the company will certainly suffer a major blow in the meantime.

Disney has already ended its deal with Netflix. Over the course of the next year, Disney movies will drop one by one from the world's most popular streaming site.

What's on Netflix reports that, in fact, Disney movies will vanish from Netflix one year and a half after the date that Netflix added them to its catalogue.

What's on Netflix went through the list of the most popular Disney titles on Netflix to find out when each of them are set to be removed from the platform.

Below, we have produced our own list adapted for Netflix Canada using the database on New on Netflix, an unofficial catalogue of all Netflix Canada content.

What's on Netflix states that movies released before 2017 will be evaluated differently in the Netflix/Disney split, meaning their dates of the removal from Netflix will vary. We have not included these titles (like Maleficent and Into the Woods).

This list, like that of What's on Netflix, is organized by production company or franchise (Disney, Marvel, Star Wars) and in alphabetical order.
