The Gory Details Of Avicii's Suicide Have Been Released And They Are Shocking

Last week, the music world lost a very talented DJ and producer.

Tim Bergling, better known by his stage name Avicii, made headlines around the globe with his sudden and tragic death. The music world and fans were all shocked.

After the autopsy was performed, a statement was released by the superstar DJ's family insinuating that Bergling took his own life.

More details have come out today surrounding Avicii's apparent suicide, and the details are pretty tragic and gruesome.

TMZ is reporting details to a bunch of news outlets, and here is the takeaway.

Avicii did, in fact, commit suicide on April 20 in Muscat, Oman.

Multiple sources reported to TMZ that Avicii died from massive blood loss by taking his own life using "a shard of glass from a broken bottle."

His family's statement read that Bergling had said that he "could not go on any longer" and "wanted to find peace."

Last October, Avicii had warned that he was "going to die" in a documentary film Avicii: True Stories

The DJ had seen lots of ups and downs in his career, most notably having undergone surgery due to excessive drinking and consumption. He retired from the "celebrity lifestyle" and touring in 2016 for personal health reasons.

Obviously, this break from the spotlight was not enough for Bergling and resulted in the tragic incident of him taking his own life and removing his star from the world.

An official police statement has not been released as of yet.

This speaks volumes to the state of mental health in the entertainment industry. Having notoriety on that level can be the worst thing for people who suffer from any type of mental illness.

One of my favourite artists today, Marina Diamandis (Marina and the Diamonds) had some choice words to say on this matter, and I'd say she hit the nail right on the head.

The music industry needs help in understanding the mental and physical health issues that are a direct result of long-term touring. Exhaustion + severe anxiety are a reality for many artists, a fact which is often hidden/ glossed over by imagery and financial success.

Heartbroken after watching Tim/ Avicii’s ‘True Stories’ documentary. His death is a complete tragedy and a huge loss to music. I never met him but my heart aches with the feeling that things could have been different.

Thoughts and prayers go out to Bergling's friends and family, and to any artist or person facing mental illness and issues of depression, please seek out the proper resources.

This should not have happened.
