The Government Of Canada Has Issued Urgent New Travel Advisories For Canadians

Every week, Canada updates it's travel advisory list to warn potential travellers of any dangers they might face abroad. This week, we bring you an updated travel advisory list after some massive global events over the weekend. 

As always, these are simply recommendations. If you must travel to these places, be alert about any potential dangers and problems you might face. Keep aware of the Canadian consulate and governance offices in these countries in case you might need them. You never know!

TL;DR MTLBlog brings you an updated list of Canadian travel advisories for this week, including countries like Belgium, Sri Lanka, and Thailand.

Sri Lanka 

Canadians travelling to Sri Lanka should exercise a high degree of caution. With several terrorist attacks that happened over the weekend, Sri Lanka has heightened security risks. The military currently maintains a huge presence across the country.

The Canadian government is advising a high degree of caution when travelling to the Southern regions of Thailand because of growing political unrest and politically motivated violence.

Due to an elevated threat of terrorism, the Canadian government warns all travellers to exercise a high degree of caution.

It's recommended to avoid all non-essential travel to Pakistan because of terrorist threats, politically motivated violence, and military actions in most border provinces and the Kashmir region.

Due to a high threat level for terrorism, the government warns Canadians to exercise a degree of caution when going to the U.K.

Once again due to a high terrorist threat, France is on the travel advisory list. Canadians should be cautious when travelling to France these days.

The government recommends a high degree of caution when travelling to Russia due to crime and threats of terrorism. Canadians should also avoid all travel to the Ukranian border regions, Chechnya, the Georgian border, and areas of Siberia due to armed conflict and terrorist attacks. Canadian Embassy resources are also severely limited in Russia.

Canadian travellers should exercise caution when going to Ukraine because of a high level of crime in major cities. You should also avoid all travel to Crimea and Donetsk and Luhansk due to military operations and armed conflicts.

Due to clashes between armed forces, Canadians should avoid all non-essential travel to Mozambique. Aid from the Canadian Embassy is extremely limited.
