The Habs Vs. The Golden Knights In Las Vegas Is The Ultimate Montreal Sports Fan Trip You Have To Take In 2018

I think at this stage in the game it's pretty safe to say that almost every single Montrealer loves the Habs.
Seriously, think about it: when the Habs are good, they're REALLY good. And the city REALLY celebrates. When the Habs are off... well, it's basically a disaster. And Montrealers are very passionate about calling out the Habs for dropping the ball (or... puck?).
But no matter what, it's obvious that we Montrealers love our resident hockey team. They inspire a passion in this city that no other sports team can. Even if sometimes we're a little disappointed, it doesn't matter. We know, deep down, that the Montreal Canadiens will pull through in the end.
If you just so happen to be one of those people who are SUPER passionate about the Habs then I have some amazing news for you.
The Montreal Canadiens will be playing the Vegas Golden Knights this February 17, 2018. And the game? Yeah, the game will be played at the T-Mobile Arena in (wait for it) Las Vegas. AKA, the most fun city in the entire world. (No exaggeration).
Honestly, a trip to Vegas to see our beloved Habs play live is pretty much any Canadiens fan's dream come true; and with tickets for the game starting at $75 USD, it's also a super inexpensive dream to realize.
And the best part about jet-setting to Vegas to catch a hockey game? While you're there, there's a world of things you could do to make the absolute most out of your stay. After all, they don't call it the most fun city in the world for nothing!
Check in at the New York-New York Hotel near The Park for a big city experience right in the heart of Las Vegas
The Park is a huge area filled with bars, restaurants and other super fun things to do and see. It also happens to be just outside of the T-Mobile Arena, where the Habs will play the Golden Knights on February 17.
Two awesome Vegas hotels - New York-New York and the Monte Carlo - are located at either end of The Park, both close to the T-Mobile Arena. So if you need a place to stay during your visit, you know exactly where you need to go.
The New York-New York Hotel is like a slice of the Big Apple right in Vegas, complete with the Statue of Liberty and yellow taxi cabs! (Plus awesome restaurants and fun bars).
And while you're there, check out the Bliss Dance installation right in the heart of The Park
The Park has a bunch of awesome things to see and do whether you're eating at a swanky restaurant, checking out a wild bar or just relaxing.
One thing you've absolutely got to check out while you're there is the breathtaking Bliss Dance art installation. This 40-foot-tall sculpture was created by artist Marco Cochrane, taking inspiration from the annual Burning Man event that goes down in the Nevada Desert.
The statue is stunning and situated right at the centre of The Park, so you can even see this beauty on your way to catch the big game!
Grab a bite or two (or three) at everyone's NYC bucketlist food joint: Shake Shack
Two words: Shake Shack. This New York based burger and fry spot is basically every foodie's dream come true, mainly because of their drool-worthy burgers and Insta-famous crinkly fries.
Biting into a juicy Shake Shack burger is nothing short of divine; and thankfully, they've got one in Las Vegas, right in the New York-New York Hotel and near the T-Mobile Arena.
So before you witness pure magic on ice (AKA, our Habs owning it against the Golden Knights), you'll be able to eat pure magic in a bun. Or in fry-form. Yum.
The highlight: get yourself to the T-Mobile Arena and watch the Habs SLAY!
You're not going to want to miss this epic game between the Habs and the Vegas Golden Knights at the T-Mobile Arena!
Not only is this space ginormous enough to fit ALL the Habs fans (seriously, it seats 20,000 people!), but the Arena also has TWO lounges and seven different places to nosh on some seriously delicious food. Two to watch out for? Tail And Fin, which dishes up tasty and sumptuous sushi burritos, and Rollin Smoke Barbecue, a barbecue house serving authentic, slow-cooked dishes!
Then celebrate the win at Vegas' very own Coyote Ugly bar
Come on. You know what Coyote Ugly is. I know what Coyote Ugly is. I think it's pretty safe to say that basically everyone knows exactly what Coyote Ugly is: a good time!
This famous bar/saloon is a fantastic place to go to at any point during your trip. This bar at the New York-New York Hotel serves up good drinks, good food and good times - so while you can go there basically any time, you might want to head there right after the Habs win big on February 17.
Plus Coyote Ugly also offers line-dancing lessons on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. So, you know. Do with that information what you will!
Stop off at Caesars Palace, and check out the beyond beautiful fountain
Honestly, Caesars Palace is basically like a mini trip to Greco-Roman times. You totally need to stop by this hotel, located in the heart of the Vegas Strip, at least once during your visit to Vegas - no matter how long you stay for.
The hotel itself has beautiful architecture, with Corinthian pillars and statues everywhere, plus beautiful fountains - and one that basically looks like a replica of Rome's Trevi Fountain.
Caesars Palace is also home to the Colosseum, which hosts huge headliner performances like Celine Dion and Elton John. So right after watching the Habs win, stop by Ceasars Palace, see some sights, grab a show, and have an awesome time!
Round off your exploration of New York-New York by visiting Hershey's Chocolate World
I don't need to explain to you why Hershey's Chocolate World is awesome. I mean, the explanation is right in the name: it's a world of Hershey's chocolate. What on this earth could possibly be better than that?
Hershey's Chocolate World is an actual paradise for treat lovers. They've got EVERY Hershey's chocolate bar imaginable, including Reese's, Hershey's Kisses, and much more.
You can even create your own custom chocolate bar, just in case you want to try something that's truly unique. To top off an already unforgettable experience, this store features an 800 pound Hershey's Milk Chocolate statue of Lady Liberty. Awesome? You know it!
Get the full scope of Vegas' sheer beauty with the High Roller observation wheel
Fun fact: the High Roller observation wheel is actually the highest observation wheel in the whole world! Which makes it a spot you absolutely need to visit during your Las Vegas adventure.
Hop on and take a spin for unparalleled views of Vegas. Or get yourself onto a special Open Bar In The Sky cabin, for - well, you guessed it - an open bar experience you'll literally never forget!
Then get your adventure on by legitimately flying across Las Vegas
Alright, thrill-seekers, this one's for you. There are a few ziplines that can take you soaring through the Las Vegas sky, and one of them - the VooDoo ZipLine - is particularly insane.
There are two exhilarating trips that'll seriously get your adrenaline pumping. The first sends you 400 feet into the air and offers a 360-degree, open-air view of the Vegas Strip. And the second? Well, that's a 10 second ride that'll propel you 800(!) feet into the air at 33 MPH. Eeek! But also, fun!
Literally float through Vegas on an actual gondola
Need I say more? If you're visiting Vegas, you can go right ahead and knock Italy off your travel bucket list, too, because Vegas' The Venetian hotel offers you the very best of Venice with the exuberant vibe of Vegas, too!
Like gondola rides, for example. You can float right along the Grand Canal on a gondola, and even have your gondola operator sing you opera. And honestly, has there ever been a more fun - or romantic - thing to do, right in the world's most exciting city? Exactly, nothing!
Then literally let all your stress melt away at the Canyon Ranch SpaClub
Also situated in The Venetian is the Canyon Ranch Spa Club, a Forbes Travel Guide four-star spa - which also happens to be one of the biggest day-spas in the world!
If you're all wound up from your awesome trip to Vegas, and from the Habs' epic win, then this is the perfect spot to let all of that melt away. With a rock wall, poolside services, a thermal suite, a salon, a spa and a whole lot more, this spot surely is an amazing place to help taper off a high-adrenaline trip!
To really round off your trip, head out to the desert to see the Seven Magic Mountains outdoor art exhibit
There's no doubt that Las Vegas itself is incredibly fun and entertaining... but although Vegas is full of things that will blow your mind, you might want to experience something totally otherworldly in the middle of the desert.
The Seven Magic Mountains is situated in Henderson, Nevada, about a 20-minute drive out of Vegas. It's a gorgeous, bright and colourful installation created by Ugo Rondinone, and honestly, it's the perfect way to cap off an already breathtaking visit to Vegas.
No matter what you do in Las Vegas, though, you're bound to have an awesome time.
Vegas is a hub of delicious restaurants, beautiful sights, once-in-a-lifetime experiences and straight-up awesome things to do like witnessing the Montreal Canadiens dominate the Vegas Golden Knights this February!
Sounds like the best time ever? You know it!
