The Havana Resort In Quebec Will Make You Feel Like You're In Cuba (PHOTOS)

Just 90 minutes from Montreal is a little slice of the Caribbean. The Havana Resort in the Eastern Townships is built to look and feel like a vacation to Cuba. Complete with colourful huts, palm trees, and thatched roofs, the resort is a miniature escape tucked away in the forest.

Visitors will discover "all the characteristics of big tropical complexes" including a "resort-sized swimming pool, salsa classes, a sandy beach with palapas, water games, [and] a mini-farm."

When the pool is open, vacationers can enjoy live musical performances, a swim-up bar, and the shade of palm trees blowing in the wind.

An on-site café completes the experience with Cuban-inspired dishes and treats. The resort's shops and grocery store also provide all the essentials for a camping weekend.

Those who really want a tropical vacation can reserve one of the "cabana-style" cottages just a "few steps from the pool and the beach."

There are also traditional camping sites for a more rustic adventure in the surrounding nature reserve.

The Havana resort also welcomes day visits.

Cabana cottages cost $175 per weeknight and $350 per weekend night.

Traditional camping prices vary according to the time and duration of stay.

Adults can visit for a single day for just $20 without staying overnight.

Finally, for the camping-averse, there are more luxurious condos available for rent.

Condo renters get access to hotel amenities like a spa, dry sauna, and full kitchen in addition to all the Havana Resort facilities and activities.

On May 27, the resort announced on Facebook that it would open on June 12 for the 2020 season.

Reservations can be made online or over the phone.
