The King And Queen Of Montreal's Real Estate Industry

Not millions, billions.
The King And Queen Of Montreal's Real Estate Industry

When it comes time to consider buying a property - what do you look for in a good real estate broker? Fast, reliable, professional, and result-oriented are typically the qualities current or new homebuyers seek above all else.

That's probably why Patrice Groleau and wife Debby Doktorczyk have been so successful in their real estate ventures - they go above and beyond to provide the ultimate customer service to all their clients/at all times.

Owner and founders behind McGill Real Estate, the power couple is at the top of the Montreal luxury condominium game, with their brokerage selling five times more properties than the average in Quebec, and raking in over 2 billion dollars in transactions.

I decided to catch up with the King & Queen of real estate to learn a bit more about what drives them.

Why did they join the real estate market?

Years ago, Patrice Groleau and Debby Doktorczyk acknowledged a lack of real estate agencies in Montreal that specialize in marketing condo projects in collaboration with developers. Seeing the need, and noting the success of specialized real estate agencies across Canada and the US, they founded their own.

What differentiates McGill Real Estate from other companies?

McGill Real Estate has collaborated with major developers in the Montreal area and gained exclusivity for these properties. To date, McGill Real Estate has already represented over 7,500 condominiums in the Montreal area.

How do they plan to expand?

McGill Real Estate recently partnered with Engel & Völkers, an international real estate firm specialized in the sale and rental of luxury property with over 700 agencies across 39 countries. With a prestigious address already in Old Montreal, Patrice and Debby have just recently opened offices on Greene in Westmount, and are currently in construction on a third Engel & Völkers location in Outremont.

What's next for the real estate powerhouse? Firmly establishing itself in Quebec City, effectively making it one of the largest brokerages per capita in the world. Now that's impressive.
