This unique and exquisitely sexy as hell project that Montreal based artist Kevin Ledo took on for the the recently new resto/bar/club Flyjin in the Old Port is something to be seen indeed!!! With the help of Karel Chladek we are given the behind the scenes treatment how it all came together for their grand opening over the 2013 Montreal Grand Prix weekend. Heck even Hollywood mega star Hugh Grant showed up for this thing. Take a look for yourself.
There's a proposal to build a massive new beach in Montreal along the Saint Lawrence River in the Ville-Marie neighbourhood of Sainte-Marie.
The beach would sit just north of the Jacques Cartier Bridge. Montrealers would be able to access it from the Parc du Pied-du-Courant via a universally accessible, 60-metre elevated walkway over the CP and Port of Montreal tracks that, right now, form a barrier between the water and neighbourhood.
In a statement shared with MTL Blog, group president Victor Balsis explained the latest beach idea takes into account feedback from both the port and City of Montreal. He also said that Les AmiEs has attempted to open dialogue with candidates in the federal and municipal elections.
"As the federal and municipal elections are upon us, these issues are more pertinent than ever," Balsis said.
"Although most of these proposals concern federally owned assets, these issues require close coordination with our municipal government which is normally responsible for urban issues on a local level."
"We have reached out to a few parties/candidates but have not heard back on these specific proposals."
With 2017 right around the corner, it's time to end 2016 off with a BANG! To do so, why not head out to some places in Montreal where you can eat, drink, and socialise with new people. It's time to party up and make what's left of 2016 great!
It's pretty obvious that a great way to make memories is by indulging in food, drinks, and making new friends. So, I comprised a list of some amazing places where you can enjoy fabulous food, wild drinks, and meet fun people right here in Montreal. Each place is unique in their own way and most are actually supper clubs!
Laika is not your typical night out. Instead of being a restaurant, it is actually a local hangout with coffee, small plates, and Sunday brunches. But, it all turns into a DJ lounge at night. So, if you rather have a chill night out where you can meet low-key people, then Laika is the place for you!
Enjoy a fabulous dinner at Joverse and then watch it transform into one of Montreal's wildest clubs! Their food is absolutely fabulous and I strongly suggest getting some of their famous crab cakes! Afterwards, grab a mojito with your girls and meet different people from the most unique places. You can dance, drink, and eat for the perfect night out with your BFFs and the new friends you will make.
Have a Spanish tapas styled dinner at Santos! Santos offers a nice light meal before the real partying starts after eleven when it turns into a hot AF bar. This is the perfect place for a classy night out while meeting new people who may or may not be from Montreal.
Not only can you get a boozy brunch at SuWu, but you can also enjoy a unique dinner before the shots, shots, shots! They specialize in making cocktails and what they like to call 'gourmet bar bites'! You will definitely have a fabulous night out!
For good food, good drinks, and new people, I recommend going to Pink Flamingo! Not only will you feel classy AF, but you will also enjoy nice champagne and some delectable food! Their french cuisine is fabulous and the atmosphere is elegant enough that you can meet new people who aren't complete wierdos.
Not only does Soubois have the best nightlife in Montreal, but their food is to die for! They offer fresh quality ingredients that come together to make the most delightful dishes. One of their most famous dishes happens to be their duck tartar! So this is definitely the place to be for a wild night that fulfills your food desires, drink desires, and social desires.
For authentic Italian dishes, like their amazing pizza, I recommend checking out Bevo! Not only are they a pizzeria, but they are also a bar! You can drink up and meet as many people as you please while enjoying the class atmosphere.
Suite 701 is honestly a perfect place for a boozy brunch as it is located right in the heart of Montreal! Not only do they have superb food, but they have amazing drinks. They offer a very impressive boozy brunch where you and your BFF can get tipsy at while enjoying some great eats and deep convos. They even have “Option Grande Soif”! A 2 hour open bar add-on option that is completely perfect for a fun night out.
Big In Japan is definitely the place to be if you are looking for a nice candlelit dinner over some hot AF drinks! I strongly recommend Big In Japan if you want to have a fun night but if you would also like to meet new people in an elegant way.
They offer Japanese fusion izakaya that pairs perfectly with their nightlife. After you complete you crazy meal, you can have a wild night since then it turns into a club with a live DJ. Flyjin in is super trendy and a great place to meet new and fun people in Montreal.
Toyo is a classic example of a teppanyaki restaurant! Here, you and a few of your friends can grab a table with some other Montrealer's and enjoy a wild dinner with some drinks. There may not be any dancing but there sure will be some socialization!
If you love some awesome burgers and some even more delicious and larger than life drinks, then I suggest checking out Deville! They have these amazing fish bowl drinks, doughnut balls, salads, burgers, and much more to make your mouths water while you can simultaneously meet new people.
Auberge St-Gabriel is perfect for some refined new French cuisine in a chic and restored historic inn that later turns into a superb club! The stone walls are antique AF but also beautiful. You can party up and meet some great new people!
If you're anything like me, then you're totally obsessed with oysters. Well, all seafood, actually - because honestly, if I could live off of only one type of food always and forever, it would totally be seafood.
Which is why, whenever Montreal gets together in celebration of the world's tastiest foods, I get super happy. So you can only imagine my excitement when I learned about Montreal's Oysterfest.
Taking place at Terrasses Bonsecours (364 Rue de la Commune East), this year's 8th annual Oysterfest will feature good vibes, and some seriously awesome food. The event is described as featuring some of Montreal's absolute best chefs, and their lineup sounds incredible.
This year's lineup includes Notkins, Park, Mercuri, Flyjin, Grinder, and many, many more awesome spots.
Let's be honest here, guys. June is prime relationship time. There's something about the heat and overall good vibes of summer that just make you happy, and just make you want to spend a whole lot of time with bae.
Although there's tons of stuff to do in June, though, it might be a little bit tough to figure out what activities are awesome for you and your S/O. But, if you're a little bit lost as to what exactly there is to do during this month, then have no fear. That's what I'm here for.
