Well the result are in and it looks like the debate will not be put to rest anytime soon.

The big winner is: Saint-Viateur Bagel.

Can't say I'm surprised, but like I said, the debate isn't over because the vote was awfully close. Saint-Viateur got 58% of the vote and Fairmount got 42%.

I think this is a good thing, because if there was only one king of the bagels in Montreal then bagels would be a little more boring. Variety is the spice of life after all and debating and arguing with one another is one of Montrealers' favorite activates.

Saint-Viateur might have won this round, but they haven't won the war.
