The Secret Super Mario Bros. "Montreal Level" That Actually Exists

The Mario universe is vast and nearly infinite. Although in most cases, we find Mario running around places with weird names like Mushroom Kingdom, Yoshi's Island or the Star World.

But it turns out that one of the Mario Bros. adventures took them to a little city we like to call Montreal.

Originally released in 1992, "Mario is Missing"  was the first title to star Luigi instead of Mario, and the plot is simply fantastic:

"Bowser sets up a castle in Antarctica, and plans to use many hair dryers (...) to melt Antarctica's ice and flood Earth. He sends Koopas to cities across Earth to steal artifacts to fund his operation."

So Luigi has to follow clues in order to know which city to visit so he can retrieve the artifacts first.

Here's the first clue, can you guess which city Luigi must travel to?

Okay, that's a pretty crappy clue but let's go with it. Time to find Montreal on the map.

Montreal, the ONLY city in Canada. Let's take a closer look.

For a game released in 1992 this isn't so bad. There's the St. Lawrence River, a green hill which I assume is Mount Royal, and if you look closely, there's even the St. Joseph Oratory and the Olympic Stadium.

Oh no! The Koopas stole the famous Montreal ... stone!? Sure, let's go with that.

Yup, we closed down Mount Royal (I guess we locked the door or something) until we can find this "important stone". Luckily we found it, now all we need to do is answer a trivia question.

What the hell are they taking about?

158 seems about right.

Classic Montreal, extremely polite people and a lot of blue buildings. They nailed it.

Even the Mario programmers knew our taxes were really high here.

Off to the next quest. OH No! they stole the dome from the Oratory. How did they not get caught?

Luckily I have the dome right here in my pocket, next to the "rare stone" and the entire Olympic Stadium tower. Hooray for logic.

Wait, I know this...

Nailed it! One more question to go.

Dammit, hopefully the answer is multiple choice.

Woo-Hoo, I win! and Now I'm off to explore new lands!
