The Streets In Montreal Are Truly Disgusting Right Now

We're in a weird place right now in Montreal, weather-wise. It's not winter but it's barely spring, with snow anticipated for this weekend and a gross cold rain starting off the day this morning.
And, without a doubt, the worst part of this current weather limbo we're in is the trash bloom that occurring on streets and sidewalks across the city.
I snapped every single one of these photos on my walk to and from my house to my metro station, Cote-Sainte-Catherine... a walk that takes no more than 7 minutes from door-to-door.

TL;DR Montreal is in full bloom: a trash bloom. Here are some impressive photos of Montreal looking like an exploded trash bag.
What's especially awful about this moment in Montreal time is that the street cleaner hasn't started passing by yet, so all this trash goes un-swept and is left to blow around.
It's impossible to know if these remnants are from open trash containers that allowed some pieces to escape, or straight up litterbugs.
But regardless, it's pretty sad to see our otherwise beautiful city in such a state.
The street cleaners will start to pass by this coming Monday, but there's no way they'll be able to truly deal with all the trash... like these pieces that are clearly up on people's lawns.
It's the litter that is scattered through the bushes that makes me believe people really do get lazy and careless in the winter, tossing their trash into snowbanks instead of holding onto it until they find a trash can.
Although, perhaps another part of the problem is the scarcity of trash receptacles in certain parts of the city.
In parks and populated areas like downtown, a bin is easy to find.
But in a residential area, like the one seen in these photos, the city-provided bins are a lot harder to come by.
It's moments like this that make me grateful for groups like Run Eco Team Montreal, seen in the video below picking up trash while on a run.
If you want to join them, head to their Facebook event page.
Also, before you come at me for taking photos and not picking up the trash... I did.
And I'll continue to pick up trash I see on my morning commute until all the Timmies cups are in their proper place. Hell.
