The medical properties of Marijuana are truly amazing. But because it has remained illegal for so long, it's benefits are only now being studied in depth and a lot more work still needs to be done.
Marijuana is already used to treat glaucoma, epilepsy, cancer, anxiety, Alzheimer's, multiple sclerosis, muscle spams, weight control, lupus, Parkinson disease and even PTSD to name a few.
Recently marijuana has also been used to treat rheumatoid arthritis which has launched a new trend of marijuana consumption, juicing.
According to High Times, a woman named Katie Marsh was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and the side effects of the drugs she was taking to combat it were only making things worse. It got so bad she had trouble getting out of bed, using the toilet and even doing simple tasks such as getting dressed.
The pain kept getting worse until she decided to take matters into her own hands. Marsh began juicing raw cannabis in her blender combined with fruit and yogurt to make a sort of marijuana smoothie. Within a couple of days she was off he regular medication, which meant no more harsh side effects, and now nearly a year later, her condition has gone into remission.
Whatever side you're on regarding the recreational use of marijuana, at this point it's getting pretty difficult to ignore the medical benefits. Maybe it's about time we stopped treating this miracle plant as a Class A drug.
