Friends, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but winter is on its way. It's super close. This time next month, we might be knee-deep in snow and slush... and regrets.

And there's no better way to experience fall than from the very top of a canyon, after a gorgeous hike up.

Of course, no canyon is better suited for a life-changing fall hike than the Ausable Chasm (9, Ausable Chasm, NY), situated in New York State.

Called the "Grand Canyon of the Adirondaks", the Ausable Chasm is about an hour drive out of the city, and trust, it's more than worth the road trip.

Although the highkey stunning Ausable Chasm is perfect for an awesome hike, there are also tons of different things to do there.

For example, you can go river rafting or tubing; you can go rock climbing; you can tour the chasm at night with lanterns; and you can even explore the surrounding Adirondak forest - plus tons of other cool things, too.

Admission to the Ausable Chasm for the basic daytime trails is $17.95 US for adults, but prices vary. It's best to check out their rates for more information.

The Ausable Chasm is open to visitors every day except for Thaksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day. Hours of operation vary by season, so make sure you check their schedule.
