The World's Largest "Viking Ship" Has Officially Arrived In Montreal's Old Port

The world's largest sailing Viking ship in modern times has officially arrived in Montreal.

But don't worry, we aren't about to get raided and pillaged or anything.

The ship is named the Draken Harald Hårfagre and it is an exact recreation of a Viking great ship.

And in case you were wondering, yes the captain is totally named Björn.

The ship set sail from a Norwegian port and crossed the Atlantic to follow the same route used by the ancient vikings thousands of years ago.

It's is run by a 32-person crew chosen from over 4,000 applicants who wanted to find out what it was like to sail the seas as the Vikings did.

According to the official itinerary on the Draken's website, the ship would only dock in Montreal if they had enough time, and it looks like the weather was fair because it will be docked at the Old Port until Wednesday.

If you'd like to actually climb on board and visit the ship, entrance is FREE. But it's only open between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
