I'm just going to go ahead and say it: New Year's Eve can be really overrated. I can't even count the number of times I spent weeks leading up to NYE worrying about my outfit or my hair or the club or the midnight kiss only to spend the entire evening making sure my friend didn't puke in her own hair. At the end of the day, New Year's Eve is (and should always be) about whom you're with, not where you go.

If an amazing view is what you're after, look no further than this chalet in Saint Donat-de-Montcalm. With room for 5 guests, this entire chalet is available for $300 a night and the reviews are super positive. The location ensures peace and quiet with ample opportunities to take a winter hike. The rental is about 15 minutes from the village and 20 minutes to Mont Garceau or Mont La Réserve. If you're looking to spend some time at Mont-Tremblant the drive is a reasonable 45 minutes.

Another huge bonus is that it's only 25 minutes outside Montreal, so you can save yourself a huge drive while still benefitting from all the perks of a weekend away at an Airbnb — and if you want some time in the Laurentiens, they're also less than a half hour away! The cost is $359 a night if you plan to go for New Year's Eve.

If you're looking to spend your New Year's Eve surrounded by nature,this chalet in Saint-Adolphe-d'Howard is perfect. There's room for 5 guests and the rate is only $250 a night. The location is also ideal if you want to get some skiing in at either Mont St-Saveur or Morin-Heights. While you might end up fighting over the single bathroom, the option to have a beautiful winter bonfire pretty much makes up for it.

For those of you that feel a fireplace is a mandatory New Years staple, this cozy chalet in Val-Morin has got you covered.
