As the long weekend begins and the sun is shining it is a better time than ever to plan a fun packed weekend of activities.

Not only have I compiled a fun list of things to do but all for under $15.

1. Piknic Electronik

This fun summer electronic music event hits off this Sunday and carries on till October the 2nd. With tickets as little as $13,50 online and $15 on site. So if you in the mood for some dancing in the sun this is the place to be.


2.  Cité Mémoire

The Cité Mémoire is the largest outdoor video-projection installation in the world and completely free. Watch the history of Montreal come alive through images, dialogue and music projects on the walls, in alleys, on the ground and trees in historic Old Montréal, telling stories of famous as well as little-known Montrealers that spectators can also listen to by downloading a free mobile application.


3. Food Truck/Street Food

With many different food trucks dotted across the city throughout the weekend why not enjoy a meal to go. With many delicious delights for under $15. You can find their locations online and plan your day or evening accordingly.


4. Biking at Parc Jean-Drapeau

With the official opening of the 21km long bike path at Parc Jean-Drapeau, get your bike ready and why not enjoy a energetic or leisurely ride.


5. Picnic or BBQ

Of course an obvious choice, but while that sun is shining what could be better than being out in it. So grab your basket or BBQ and head for one of the many parks this wonderful city has to offer. Or even to the top of Mont-Royal to eat and enjoy with the breath taking view from the top.


6. Boat Ride

From Saturday you can enjoy a boat ride from Montreal or Longueuil to Parc Jean-Drapeau. Prices rang from $4,25 to $7,75 for a single ticket. Check the Navettes Maritimes website for the crossing times and prices.


7. Cinema and walking tour in the park evening

Come and enjoy Beaver Lake in its beautiful surroundings on Mount Royal. From 1pm to 4pm you can enjoy a free walking tour, followed by drinks to buy at 6pm, and finally finishing the evening from 7pm to 9pm in the park outdoor cinema. Popcorn will be served for free.


8. Québec Cinema Festival 2016

From 5pm Friday evening into the early hours of Saturday and Sunday morning you can enjoy Québec cinema projected inside and out for as little as $10 for a pass to the full festival. So make your way to 335, boul. De Maisonneuve Est for a fun filled weekend of films.


9. Les Nocturnes Des Mac

For just $14 this Friday evening you can enjoy a fun and artistic event at the MAC Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal at 185, Sainte-Catherine Ouest. The evening involves expositions, workshops, a bar and nibbles as well as 4 different DJs. So if you are looking for an artistic inspired evening with alcohol, food and music this is the place to be.


10. Restaurant Day

This Saturday the 21st is officially Restaurant Day. It is an international food carnival where people are invited to open their dream restaurant for one day. Occurring each season in cities across the globe, Restaurant Day encourages participants to choose the format and location of their pop-up restaurant- no ideas are too wild!
