The holiday season is pure romance. Especially in Montreal, we get a lot of snow. I mean, a lot. Transforming the grey washed concrete streets into a glittering pure-white winter wonderland. Nothing is more romantic than cozying up in the toasty indoors when it's minus 30 below. Baby, it's cold outside!

Visit the Souk @ SAT holiday market

"Souk" is the Arabic word for market. The Souk @ SAT is an annual holiday market featuring a variety of local artisans, designers and artists works. You will find everything from illustrative prints, leather goods, hand-made soaps, artisanal culinary products, and much much more.
Make your way to Parc Jeanne Mance for tobogganing

Tobogganing is another traditional Canadian winter activity and a super-cute date idea. And, best of all, totally free! Also, think of it like a free workout, too. All the running up and down the hill is bound to burn some calories.

I've seen the holiday window at Olgivy's about a thousand times, but each year I get excited to see it again. Each mechanical toy was handcrafted and painted individually, it's really quite a marvel to enjoy. Grab a warm beverage and head down t Saint-Catherine for an adorable holiday day date.

The biosphere - which was built for the famous expo 67' - is now a museum located on Ile Saint-Helene, and is also an architectural marvel. To honour the 375 anniversary of Montreal and the 50th of expo 67', the city will be illuminating this beautiful and iconic structure. Check it out for free!

Try indoor ice skating downtown at Atrium Le 1000

If skating outside and braving the cold is not your thing, you have the option to take your date indoors and skate around the biggest indoor rink in Downtown Montreal at Place Bonaventure. It's an inexpensive and super cute holiday date idea. Grab drinks anywhere downtown after!
Grab a hot chocolate and walk around Parc La Fontaine

On a cooler and early winter day you can bundle up and grab a hot chocolate and take a walk through arguably the most romantic park in the city - La Fontaine. Grab a seat on a bench and cuddle up and watch the dogs walk by and play in the snow.
Enjoy an afternoon of Snowshoeing in Parc Nature Du Cap-Saint-Jaques

Get crafty and build and decorate - and eat - your very own Gingerbread House

A basic Gingerbread house kit will run you approximately 10$, Costco has some great and inexpensive options. If you're feeling adventurous you can splurge for a cheaper kit. In any case, it's an inexpensive and cute indoor holiday date activity to enjoy with someone special.
Go to Quilles G Plus for an evening of "Cosmic Bowling"

For those couples that can brave the cold, the Old Port has a stunning outdoor staking rink overlooking the water

To celebrate the 375th birthday of Montreal the city has invested in illuminating some of the iconic structures and historical monuments that define Montreal history. Take a short drive to Saint-Sauver for a day of snow tubing!

Snow tubing is quite possibly the most exhilarating outdoor winter activity. Perfect date idea, too. It's also great for all you lazy bones out there because there is a lift that brings you and your tube back up the hill. Just sit back and enjoy the slide.
Head outside of the city to Parc Omega to catch a glimpse of beautiful Quebec Wildlife

Can you think of anything more magical than an unplanned deer sighting? Hmm, don't think so, right!? Parc Omega is just a short distance outside of Montreal and is a nature and wildlife adventure where all kinds of animals can be spotted. Spend your date evening warming up in a traditional hammam at the Rain Spa in heart of the Old Port
