You would think that of all the festivals Montreal hosts every year, one entirely dedicated to poutine would be it's oldest and longest running, right? Believe it or not, we've actually never had one before. There is a Poutine Week, which is magically delicious and all, but it does require traveling to each restaurant to get your hands on your favourite comfort food, where as the Montreal's first-ever Poutine Festival, will put all the poutine in one place for your gluttonous pleasure.
From the same people that are bringing us the first-ever Montreal Ribfest a week before, the 1st Montreal Poutine Festival will take over the Old Port on the weekend of July 3-5. It promises much a myriad of delectable poutine recipes from here and beyond, tens of thousands of pounds of potatoes, free entry and above all else, another amazing reason why Montreal is the best summer city on the planet.
There's no word on which poutine-makers will be participating yet, but it doesn't really matter all that much does it? Mad poutine options, outside, at the Old Port in the summer... do you really need more to sell you? I didn't think so.
