Certain parts of Montreal have not survived into the modern day. Le Faubourg à m'lasse is one of MTL's 'lost neighborhoods,' tossed aside by by the city in the name of 'progress.' Demolished in 1963 to make way for the CBC building we know today. Over 5000 families were displaced, along with 678 homes, 12 grocery stores, 13 restaurants, 8 garages and twenty plants destroyed. No traces are left of the Le Faubourg à m'lasse, save for the photos below. Check them out for a glimpse at forever lost culture and architecture of Montreal.
