OK, so Formula 1 is done. So is the folk festival; Francofolies is over; and TWO beer festivals went by.  Shit.  Do you feel like you haven't been taking advantage of what Montreal has to offer in the summer?

It's not too late. Here are another 5 sweet festivals you can still go to (but seriously, get on it):

1. Osheaga - August 2nd - 4th

Osheaga. The festival is getting bigger every year, attracting 120 000 people in 2012. It is considered one of the best music festivals in North America, so it's probably worth the 235$ pass for the 3 days. But if you only want to get a day pass for 90$, you'll have a tough choice to make between (these are only highlights obviously):

  • The Cure, Vampire Weekend and Alt-J (seen below) on Friday
  • Beck, Stars, and Frank Ocean on Saturday
  • Mumford and Sons, New Order and The Lumineers on Sunday

Check out the full line-up here.

2. The International Jazz Festival - Friday June 28th - July 7th

This is a big one, guys. Feist kicks off 10 days of sweetness with a free show at the TD scene on Friday June 28th. Obviously, you can pay to go see some awesome shows such as Mother Mother, Fitz and the Tantrum, Serena Ryder, and Mo Kenney. But honestly, I recommend going to one of the 7 stages offering free, high-quality concerts at every hour from 5 pm to midnight, every day of the festival which runs until July 7th.

3. Montréal Complètement Cirque - July 2nd - 14th

If you haven't been to this one yet, get ready to be blown away. Go to one of the 15 indoor shows, or one of the 18 outdoor shows, and get your socks knocked off by Cirque-du-soleil-level shit.

Check out more details HERE.

4. International Festival Nuits d'Afrique - July 9th to 21st

You will have the chance to discover world-renowned artists from Africa (obvisously), but also from Cuba, South America, France, and Mexico. The shows are happening at le Quartier des Spectacles, as well as in 8 different indoor venues across the city.

Below is the a pic of the French reggae band Danakil, playing on July 9th at La Tulipe.

5. MEG Montreal - July 25th to August 3rd

This is the electronic music lovers dream festival. With an incredible lineup this year including Shlohmo, Zombie Nation, Poirier, Tommy Kruise and MANY MANY more. You are in for a treat.

Did we tell you there is the MEG Boat? Check the teaser and hit this link for more details.
