Locals look forward to the arrival of warm Montreal weekends all winter and spring. And, although we're nowhere near normal times, some outdoor activities are beginning to reopen and resume — including gatherings of a maximum of 10 people (with some restrictions). For the first time in months, there are some things to do outside in Montreal this weekend.
In all cases, however, authorities insist that you keep following public health guidelines, stay two meters away from other people, and wear a mask when that's difficult to do.
But if you're still staying home, there are also still ways to have some fun.
After our long and harsh winters, it is great to know that the sun is here to stay, and there's even a heatwave on the way.
Sitting outside does so much good for the soul and if you can enjoy the heat, why not do so this weekend?
In the coming weeks, there will be even more to do.
Montreal retail stores with their own entrances from the outside will begin to open on May 25. The city is also preparing to close some streets to traffic to give pedestrians more space to enjoy.
Museums and drive-in theatres are reopening at the end of the month.
