Art fans rejoice because next Friday, you'll get to enjoy a unique experience at one of Montreal's best museums. Did I mention that this all free?
That's right, the Musée d'art Contemporain de Montréal (MAC) will be free to attend on June 21st! In honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day, every exhibition in the MAC will be free of charge. Come experience the opening of their newest collections before anyone else!
The MAC will premiere its latest exhibitions on June 20th, which will feature artists such as Rebecca Belmore and Ragnar Kjartansson. At the moment, the MAC is being transformed in order to better host these fabulous artists.
What's better than a free museum day on a beautiful summer day? If it's too hot, what better way to cool off in some A/C by walking around an incredible modern art museum!
MAC's free exhibitions day is to honour the National Indigenous People's Day. This day of recognition was instituted in 1996 to celebrate the culture and contributions of all Canadian First Nations.
There will be celebrations all over Canada and the MAC has chosen to celebrate by giving all of us a chance to see their latest exhibitions free of charge!
In addition to Belmore and Kjartansson, the new exhibitions on June 20th will include Nadia Myre, Francis Alys, and Chloe Lum & Yannick Desranleau.
You'll for sure spend the whole day walking around with all these artists AND the MAC's permanent collection free of charge!
Translation: Rebecca Belmore's work addresses global conflicts and crises driven by climate change, water access, homelessness, etc. Coming to the MAC in June in an expo organized by @agotoronto.
Being one of the most spectacular museums in Montreal, the MAC is sure to please art fans of all tastes!
