This Gruesome New Netflix Dark Comedy Is Even Better Than "Russian Doll"

A new Netflix series is coming to Netflix Canada on May 3. The series stars Christina Applegate as a grieving widow mourning the recent loss of her husband. As she looks for the driver who murdered her husband, she realises that her new friend isn't exactly who she seems.

If you're a fan of other dark comedies like the "Santa Clarita Diet" or "Russian Doll," I think you're definitely going to enjoy this show.

TL;DRNetflix's newest dark comedy is a mutch-watch for fans of the genre. Critics and audiences alike have given the show amazing reviews.

The series stars Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini. Netflix describes the series as "a hotheaded widow searching for the hit-and-run who mowed down her husband befriends an eccentric optimist who isn't quite what she seems."

You can watch the trailer below:

The main character is painfully hard to relate to in the funniest possible way: she absolutely loathes being touched and refuses any helping hand or offer of condolences.

This show seems to be a breath of fresh air in the way that it represents grief and the grieving process.

The main character's actions are all over the place and seemingly nonsensical as she comes to terms with her loss.

Of course, the show's twist is the friend she makes along the way, who isn't who she really seems to be. The show is rumoured to be full of plot twists that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

Critics and audiences both seem to agree that the show is a hit: it has a 75% positive rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics. Audiences give it an 88% positive rating.

“Wherever Judy goes, chaos tends to follow,” notes once voice in the trailer.

I'm excited to see what twists and turns this show has in store.
