This Hidden Mountain Top House In Quebec's Laurentians Is One Hell Of A Diamond In The Rough

Photo cred - The Contemporist

Sitting atop the Laurentian Mountain range, about an hour north of Montreal, rests a one-of-a-kind house with a complex design that still exudes simplicity. Created by Saucier + Perrotte Architects, this mountaintop home is surrounded by natural beauty, while brimming with modern flair, creating a unique dichotomy that is bound together in architectural harmony.

A geometric mish-mash of shapes, the home looks like a masterful game of Jenga from the outside, comprised of several rectangular pieces, each a section of the interior, and a prism-shaped guesthouse. Every side of the house offers a different view and vantage, with a stunning view of mountainside forest to the south.

While the outside looks little rough and boxy (pun intended) the inside is the embodiment of a sleek and modern design that perfectly reflects the mood of the exterior. Large windows allowing for plenty of natural light, dark-coloured wood panels and fixtures, and a minimalistic flair creates an interior atmopshere of serenity that mirrors the home's natural surroundings.

Plus, there's a pool.
