After months of anticipation, the iPhone 6 has finally been unveiled during Apple's media event held today at the Flint Centre, where Steve Jobs originally unveiled the first Mac computer. All of the rumours revolving around the iPhone 6's larger screen, thinner size, sapphire display, iOS 8 usage, interface modifications, have officially been debunked or proven right.

To help you decide whether you're going to throw out your old smartphone, here's the basic breakdown on the iPhone 6, compiled from the ARS live blog:

  • Will come in iPhone 6 (4.7", 326PPI, 1334x750, 6.9mm) and iPhone 6 Plus (5.5", 401PPI, 1080p, 7.1mm) varieties

  • iOS 8 interface
  • Equal and better (6 Plus) battery life than iPhone 5s
  • Comes in black, silver, and gold

  • VoLTE (voice over LTE) makes calls clearer and gives you simultaneous voice and data
  • WiFi calling capabilities
  • Camera: 8MP camera, true tone flash, 1.5u pixels, f/2.2 aperture, panorama with up to 43 megapixels, advanced blink and smile detection
  • 1080p HD videos at 30fps or 60fps, slo-mo videos at 120fps or 240fps, timelapse video coing with iOS 8
