This Is The Deep Fried Spaghetti Pogo

Spaghetti can be more than just a plate of pasta.

Creative deep-frying should be an Olympic sport, or at least an Iron Chef competition, and we have no doubt in our minds that the gustatory genuises over at DudeFoods would win the gold/crush Bobby Flay and Masaharu Morimoto. Reinventing the classic Pogo, Nick Chapman of DudeFoods has added some Italian flair to the carnival-food classic, creating the deep-fried spaghetti pogo.

Instead of using some boring old corndog batter, this fusion of cuisines takes grilled Italian sausages, wraps them in spaghetti, then deep-fries them for a while to attain heart-stopping deliciousness. Actually though, if you eat to many of these your heart may actually stop from OD'ing on carbs/grease/decadence. You have been warned.

Not incredibly complex, to make your own all you need to do is grill up some sausages, let them cool, enrobe them in spaghetti, then cover 'em in Italian breadcrumbs for some crunch. Then comes the much-anticipated deep-frying, which only takes about a minute. Adding some cheese (or use cheese-filled sausages) would take this dish even further into the realms of deep-fried decadence.

Montreal may be home to the Pogo-waffle, but no one is making a a spaghetti pogo like this. We've added the deep-fried spaghetti pogo to our to-eat list, and given the simplicity, we're pretty confident we'll be crossing it off soon.
