Considering how awesome Montreal is, the rent here is surprisingly low.

Unfortunately, not every major Canadian city enjoys this kind of perk.

In certain cities, the rent is outrageous, and in others having 1,000 to spend on rent will make you feel like a king.

That's why we decided to see what 1,000 a month gets you in the largest city in each province.

We tried to stay as close as possible to each city's downtown area, to keep things fair, and here's what we found:
