Grand opening summer 2019!
This Is What Montreal's New Beach Will Look Like (Photos)

Montreal is an amazing city... but for a creature like me, there is something missing.

I love being by water! I live by Lachine Canal in the Sud-Ouest areas, and I will never, ever leave! Being close to water really is something that is important for my happiness.

Sure, we got the beach on Jean-Drapeau island, and that is nice... but one is simply not enough! At least not enough for me. Especially so that the pool has been closed due to construction for the past year, and another this year.

Montreal's new man-made beach in Verdun has been in planning and construction phases since last year, and in a new statement this past week from the Verdun mayor, construction is moving ahead this year.

Verdun mayor,  Jean-Francois Parenteau, has said that they will be testing water conditions all throughout 2018 and that construction will be finished with an end-goal to open for public swimming as of summer 2019.

The new urban beach in Montreal will be located behind Auditorium de Verdun.

Here's a little sneak peek at the new Montreal beach in Verdun, and what you can expect it to look like!

One of the coolest things I see here is not the fact that this beach will be a short walk from my house (which is tough to beat!)... but rather the beach library and relaxation zones!

I can NOT wait to see this space actually open and functioning... I will probably be there every other day!

Cheers to new Montreal and Verdun developments, this is exciting!
