This Is What The Minimum Wage Is In Every Province & Territory Across Canada

April 1st was the day for many provinces to put their minimum wage increases into effect, while other provinces won't be seeing an increase this year at all.

Alberta
Current: $15
Scheduled Increase: Alberta has no minimum wage increase scheduled for 2019.
Ontario
Current: $14.00
Scheduled Increase: Ontario has no minimum wage increase scheduled until 2020.
Northwest Territories
Current: $13.46
Scheduled Increase: The increase went into effect on April 1, 2018. There is no increase scheduled for 2019.
Nunavut
Current: $13.00
Scheduled Increase: Nunavut has no minimum wage increase scheduled for 2019, though the minimum is reviewed annually on April 1.
Yukon
Current: $12.71
Scheduled Increase: Increase was put into effect on April 1st, 2019 and is adjusted annually on April 1st.
Prince Edward Island
Current: $12.25
Scheduled Increase: Increase was put into effect on April 1st, 2019.
Nova Scotia
Current: $11.55 for "experienced workers," $11.05 for "inexperienced workers."
Scheduled Increase: Increase was put into effect on April 1st, 2019. The minimum wage is scheduled to increase by $0.55 in 2020 and again in 2021.
New Brunswick
Current: $11.50
Scheduled Increase: Increase was put into effect on April 1st, 2019.
Newfoundland & Labrador
Current: $11.40
Scheduled Increase: Increase was put into effect on April 1st, 2019.
Saskatchewanย
Current: $11.06
Scheduled Increase: Increases are announced by June 30th and changes take effect October 1st.
Hopefully, we see these numbers continue to increase until everyone is earning a livable wage across the country.
