This Is Why November Is The Worst Month Ever In Canada

November is upon us and that means one thing. The worst month of the year has officially begun.

Everyone has a particular time of the year they hate. But for me and many other people, the worst one by far is the month of November. Everything outside was beautiful and colourful only a few weeks ago, but now it's all just rainy, dark, and sad looking.

In case you happen to disagree, give me a chance to explain why November is the worst, and I'm sure that by the end of this article, it will be your most hated month as well.

1. The Weather Hates Us

Have you taken a look outside lately? no matter where you are, it's probably been raining on and off for 2 weeks now and it's going to stay that way all through November. Unless of course we also get snow. (Fun!)

The sky just looks like a sad, pale mess. Every morning there's a new a new shitty surprise awaiting you: It's either raining, or freezing, or both.

2. Everyone Is Always Sleepy

One of the worst things about November is the fact that there's practically no sunshine at all.

The sun doesn't rise early enough so it's impossible to wake up feeling refreshed, and it gets dark at 6:30pm so it always feels much later than it actually is. Prepare to look like a zombie for the next 4 weeks.

3. Death Is Everywhere

Is it just me, or does the whole city look like the set of a post apocalyptic movie right now? Everything look dead.

The mornings are foggy and evil looking, the pretty leaves aren't so pretty anymore, the bare branches makes everything look haunted, the flower pots are empty, the grass has turned to mud, and it the city looks just plain dirty.

4. That Ominous Feeling...

November is basically the calm before the storm. It's a month full of promises of horrible things to come: Final exams, winter, seasonal expenses, holiday shopping, performance reviews at work. Plus this year we have the U.S. presidential election of course.

It's hard to stay positive and relaxed when you have such a massive "to-do" list built up and so many horrible things to deal with on the horizon.

5. The Holiday Chasm

In October the weather is crappy, but at least we have Halloween to look forward to. The decorations, costumes and candy really steal focus away from the shit that awaits us outside. Also all the dreary weather just works well for Halloween.

But now Halloween is over and it's too early to talk about Christmas, so there's actually nothing fun at all to look forward to this month.
