If you live in Montreal, you are likely aware that La Poutine Week is swiftly approaching and there are tons of amazing Montreal restaurants that will be participating.
Last week, we let you know which restaurants were participating along with many of the awesome featured poutines you'll be able to try during La Poutine Week.
Now, we come with the Ultimate La Poutine Week Guide to getting in as many of the amazing poutines as possible.
TL;DR Kind of like Bandersnatch but with poutine, scroll down to pick your poutine adventure. Whether you're looking for a stroll through the Plateau or a loop downtown, we've got you covered on how to cover the most poutine in the least amount of time.
While the streets may be treacherous these days, walking through Montreal is usually a lovely way to spend the day.
Even more so if you're walking to your next delicious poutine.
So, of course, we had to provide you guys with the ultimate guide to Montreal's Poutine Week 2019. Here are two perfectly planned poutine paths... how do you like that?!
The Plateau Crawl
If the Plateau is your hood, start in the Mile End and work your way down into the heart of Montreal's most beloved borough with our Plateau Crawl.
Click on the letter in this interactive map to see the restaurant and their address!
Start at Chez Tousignant up in Rosemont where you can always find the best of classic Quebecois cuisine.
Try one of their signature sodas before you hit the road onto the next spot...
Take a turn at Lola Rosa to head back down Rachel towards Parc La Fontaine.
This stop is a must if you've got a vegetarian in your crew, as Lola Rosa is often referred to as Montreal's favourite veg resto for meat eaters and vegheads alike.
Finish off at La Banquise. There's usually a line outside this beloved Plateau haunt, so you'll have some time to digest as you wait.
Once you polish off their Avo-Ki Poutine, you can roll yourself over to Parc La Fontaine, find a cozy bench and let yourself succumb to the poutine coma you've brought upon yourself.
Or, if you're the kind who needs to shake it out after a meal, head to the park for a little stroll before heading home.
The Downtown Loop
If downtown is where you dine, then try the Downtown Loop.
Hopoff the orange line at Lucien L'Allier, then loop around and finish off right at Peel station.
Click on the letter to see the restaurant and their address!
Your first downtown stop is Le Centre Sheraton for their Blue Parisienne Poutine.
Definitely the most photogenic poutine in the city!
Though I can hear the cries for proper cheese curds now...
Take a turn towards Griffintown to enjoy XYZ Poutine at Brasseur de Montreal on Ottawa street.
Grab a beer with the Unemployment Poutine... if you can afford it. Brasseur de Montreal features amazing beers on tap alongside their gourmet pub food classics.
Finish off with Chicken Stew Poutine at Campo on Maisonneuve.
This one is like a total comfort food combo... stew and poutine... what more could you want?
Now that you've done the full loop, you can hop back on the metro and go home to hibernate until summer.
Or, head back to the Sheraton where you can book a room a take a well-deserved poutine nap.
Some Notable Outliers
Of course, there are plenty of poutines worth trying off these well-beaten paths, so if you live outside the Plateau or downtown, check out some of our notable outliers below.
Pub McCarold's is featuring their Oh Danny boy! Poutine this year. Find them at the corner of Cote-des-Neiges and Lacombe, just feet from the Cote-des-Neiges metro station.
Broue Pub Brouhaha is located at 5860 de Lormier avenue and is featuring their beautifully named Bitchslap Poutine ("La Gifle," en français). If you're uptown, be sure to stop in and let us know if it hits as hard as the photo does.
Hochelaga & Verdun
Le Trefle is opening up both their locations to poutine lovers this year, so if you're in the area, don't hesitate to stop by and try it out.
Who's ready for February 1st!?
I know I can't wait, and I'll be back with more mouthwatering photos and information next Wednesday when La Poutine Week launches across the city!
