This Magical "Enchanted Forest " Near Montreal Includes A Chairlift Ride In The Dark

Do you love hiking? Do you love hiking in the dark? I think it's hella creepy, but I also think that that's just another reason to give it a try. It's really easy to get bored when you're just walking through the wilderness. But now put that same trail in the dark and cover it with lights. It's immediately awesome!

Walking through the forest at night is absolutely beautiful. And it's a fantastic way to spend a Spring evening. Now imagine if you got to be transported through the trees on a night chairlift ride. Wouldn't that be a dream?

Well no need to dream anymore, there's a place right outside Montreal near Mont Tremblant that has exactly that. And it's freaking awesome!

I'm sure you've all heard of Foresta Lumina, well I've found something similar that might just be even cooler. And of course, it has its own legend that goes along with it. If you're going to be put up lights in a forest and make it look like a fairy tale, then you might as well give it a story. It only makes sense.

Tonga Lumina is based on the legend that Mont Tremblant is home to a giant, the last giant. And it's rumored that this creature is in charge of protecting the nature of the mountain. Now, whenever he wakes up from his deep slumber, his descendants come from all over to hear his wisdom.

Now that summer is arriving, he has wakened up again. You can tell by the glowing hand and footprints that you can now find in the forest. It's your job to find him and learn his secrets. There are clues along the path to help guide you to the heart of the mountain.

Now I can't really say whether or not the legend is true, but what I do know is that the illuminated hiking path is absolutely breathtaking! It isn't every day you have the opportunity to hike in the dark and feel like you're in a fairytale.

This sensory experience has been built along a 1.5km trail that is designed specifically to be walked in the dark. It starts off at the bottom of the Flying Mile chairlift which brings visitors up to the midway station and the beginning of the walking trail. It starts off uphill, but after that, it's a leisurely stroll that takes you over streams and clearings.

Visitors can expect the trail to last about an hour and it can be found at 1000 Chemin des Voyageurs, Mont-Tremblant, which is about an hour and a half away from the city. So what are you waiting for?!
