This Montreal Artist Turns Dead Celebs Into Visual Magic You Must See To Believe

Colouring books aren't just for children. Montreal-based artist, photographer, and graphic designer Tarik Mikou has taken the idea of a kid's colouring book, and warped it into a series of vibrant portraits of classic celebrities.

Colourfully creepy, the portraits are a temporal mash-up, with dead celebrities given new life with crazy colours, the fusion of modern culture with past generations, and a children's 'colour-by-numbers' motif being used to create works of art. Taking inspiration from the past and present, Mikou has a varied style all his own.

Check out the photo series below, with some of additional works thrown in for good measure.
