It doesn't really matter if you like to sing in front of people, or you're a shower time rockstar, music drives us in our daily lives. We all have songs we can sing along to, and we love to do it - this is a fact.
Karaoke is still just as popular in Montreal as ever... but the old karaoke bars that have always been there may be slightly out of touch... but that doesn't stop others from coming out with cool karaoke events!
In Montreal, we have Hip-Hop karaoke that is so much fun, and gets so busy that you need to pre-register to get your mic time on the books!
Another karaoke event that I think is just totally wicked and debaucherous fun is Bareoke. Yup, you read that right. Bare-oke. Get it?
You know what they say, if you're nervous on-stage, "picture the audience naked."
Have you ever thought to flip the script and just get naked yourself? I mean, its hard to imagine being self-conscious about your singing voice when you're stripping off some layers, right?
Lipster Bareoke - Strip Karaoke event at Cafe Cleopatra is hands down one of the most fun karaoke events I've ever seen.
They pull out all the classic karaoke stops. I'm talking uber cheesy karaoke songs, stellar sing-along tracks, and all the normal expectations one could find at a karaoke bar.
But then everyone just gets strips on stage while performing. Why?
Cause why not!
It's worth noting that you don't HAVE to strip, or you could just do a little tease to warm yourself up. Don't fret, it will be well-received. This is a very safe and welcoming space.
Even for those of you who may be a little too shy to get up on stage and try your hand on the microphone, this event is straight up bananas to watch! I've seen folks celebrate their birthdays, do funny impromptu collaborations and totally kill some music classics.
Seriously, guys, it's a ton of fun!
Lipster Bareoke has been going on for years, but not a lot of Montrealers actually know this - the reason for that is well beyond me. It all goes down right in the heart of Montreal's downtown, too!
Here's all the information you should remember for their next edition:
