This Uplifting New Queer Show Is Coming To Netflix Canada Just In Time For Pride

Pride Month is finally upon us and Netflix came ready. They have quietly been in the process of bringing Armistead Maupin's well-known Tales of the City to life, and it's going to make its Netflix debut June 7th, just in time for Pride.
The show has a fully stacked queer cast including Ellen Page, Bob the Drag Queen, Charlie Barnett alongside a host of Hollywood heavy-hitters like Laura Linney, Victor Garber, Olympia Dukakis and more.
Take a look at the trailer below and some of the best reactions on Twitter.
The trailer shows Tales of the City in its newest form: revived and set in current day San Francisco. The nine-book series was first made into a mini-series in 1993 by Channel 4 in the UK. Laura Linney and Olympia Dukakis were also part of the first two original Showtime productions that aired in 1998 and 2001.

People are already super excited that the show is back and that Laura Linney and Olympia Dukakis are also back to reprise their roles.
At this point, the hype is real, and people can't wait to stay in tomorrow night, cozy up on the couch and take in this show in all its gay glory.

It guarantees to be a feel-good show about a group of people who have chosen each other as their new family, set to the tune of San Francisco, a city of endless character.
The show is a limited series, meaning it likely won't meander much off the path of the books (unlike some shows we know) and won't be on Netflix for season after season... so take it in now while it's still there!
Tales of the City is on Netflix on Friday and that’s all that matters in my life— . (@.) 1559781840.0

According to Variety, there will be 10 instalments of the show, and it looks like we're getting them all at once. Bring on the binge-watching!
And while there aren't any reactions to the show just yet, as it doesn't drop on Netflix until tomorrow, clearly people who know the story and have watched the previous TV adaptations are beyond ready to take in this miniseries!
