This Video Captures The Most Fun Montreal STM Metro Driver Ever And You're Going To Wish You Were On His Train

A video posted late last night by Karina R-F shows a metro driver on the orange line having fun on his late-night commute. The video, filmed in an almost empty Azur train, records the voice messages of the driver over the intercom.

TL;DR A video shows a metro driver having fun over the intercom, as he announces stops with a jingle or imitates an airplane pilot.

Imitating an airplane pilot, the driver intones, "we are leaving Côte Vertu, in the direction of Montmorency. Our estimated time of arival is 17:58, if the winds are favourable."

Later in the video, we can hear him create a jingle for Laurier station, which elicits a few chuckles from pasengers. The driver warns of an "expected slowdown" as the metro approaches Henri-Bourassa station, because of railway switches.

He continues to narrate his trip, declaring that they are currently under the Rivière-des-Prairies. "Take a deep breath," the driver says, "fish to both our left and our right."

He ends his entertaining ride with the classic "thank you for travelling with us today," following this statement with a twist on the classic song "Gens du Pays," by Gilles Vigneault. "People of the neighborhood," he says, "it is your turn to go back to your homes."

Sometimes we forget that there is a human sitting at the front of those giant Azurs. This video reminds us that there is indeed a real person driving us home everyday, and that he is really, really funny. Are you hoping to catch this driver on his next shift?
