Tomorrow Montreal Will Experience The Hottest Weather On Record In Over 70 Years

Summer will officially come to a close in one week.

Already, cool, dry air carrying the earthly smell of decaying vegetation has begun to flow through our windows in the morning.

But Montreal still has at least one more weekend of summer weather.

Although the leaves already display a hint of yellow and orange, the city is set to enjoy a weekend of temperatures approaching thirty degrees centigrade.

Summer is going out with a bang.

What will probably be the last summery weekend of the year will also likely break a seventy year heat record!

According to the local forcast from the government of Canada website, the record temperature for September 15th was set seventy-one years ago in 1947. It was 29.4 degrees out that day.

Tomorrow, September 15th, 2018, is set to reach at least 29 degrees with a whopping humidex of 36 degrees!

That means that not only will the city experience a scorcher tomorrow, but also that it will likely just break that record from 1947.

Of course, such a record is also symptomatic of startling trends.

As climate change progresses, colder season will only become more abnormally warm.

Extreme and unusual heat has already proved deadly for Montreal. In July, a record-shattering heatwave killed dozens of people across souther Quebec.

Stay safe this weekend!
