Ah yes, the glorious first day of summer is less than 24 hours away! Tomorrow, June 21st, is going to be a spectacular Wednesday since it marks the first day of all our summer bucket lists. However, that's not the best part! Montreal is hosting some special events and FABULOUS activities that we can all participate in at a low cost or even for FREE!
You can expect nothing less than a superb day tomorrow especially i you take advantage of the sun and use your day off (or take a sick day) to enjoy some fun activities you can do, especially with your BF to start summer 2017 off with a BANG!

10. Hike Up Mont-Royal
If you are more on the active side, why not gather some of your friends for an early morning hike to watch the sunrise on the first day or summer! Not only will you stay fit, but you will also have a gorgeous view of the city and I suggest bringing a picnic for a nice brunch! OR, finish the first day of summer with a late night hike up the morning to watch the sunset with some snacks.

Atwater Market is an absolute must visit location in Montreal especially if you only have 24 hours! You will be surprised on just how much time you can spend at Atwater Market, especially in the sun on the first day of summer! It is literally my happy place and the variety of restaurants always serve fresh food. Plus, you can just walk around all day and enjoy a nice stroll along the Lachine Canal or buy plants... cacti YAS!
8.Go For A Bike Ride Along The Lachine Canal
I honestly love biking with my just about anyone and honestly I think it's a great treat where you don't have to spend any money. For those who love to bike, I suggest biking down the Lachine Canal towards Atwater Market for a fun Montreal summer day.
7. Go For Ice Cream At La Diperie
Since you are probably craving something sweet and refreshing on the hit first day of summer, why not quench your sweet tooth with some delicious ice cream from La Diperie! They are probably the most famous ice cream shop in all of Montreal, so the first day of summer wouldn't be complete without it.
6. Go Have Sangria At Terrasse Nelligan
My personal favorite terrasse happens to be Terrasse Nelligan located in the heart of Old Montreal. It is absolutely stunning! The views are amazing considering that the Basilica is your view from one side and the water front is your view from the other side. 5. Go To The Clock Tower Beach

Enjoy the hot sun on the first day of summer by checking out the Clock Tower Beach Located in the heart of Montreal. You can feel the sand between your toes as you sip on some bubbly!
4. Go To The Botanical Gardens
From 9-5pm every day of the week you can check out Montreal's superb botanical gardens! It includes 75 hectares of facilities and greenhouses and plenty of exotic plant life to make you feel like you are in a whole new world. It is absolutely stunning and the park area makes for a great little picnic area and some tanning to get that summer glow right from the start.

Check out Chinatown's cute side-walk sale featuring some great savings and even better finds! It's the perfect thing to do on a Thursday afternoon after a long day at work.

Ah yes, the perfect way to relax with your BFF and soak up the sun on the first day of summer is by treating yourselves to a spa day. Personally, I recommend Bota Bota since it is only $45 before 11 am and after 6pm for their water circuit. Not only do you relax, but you also get to see Montreal from a whole other angle with the stunning views you receive on the boat's deck and in the main pool that looks over the whole city!
