Top 9 Most 'Instagramable' Restaurants In Montreal

Over the past 10-years, restaurant owners and entrepreneurs have run into a novel problem in the industry.

Not only are new restaurant owners required and expected to deliver great food and service, but their restaurant interiors must be enticing enough to also attract the social media savants and taste-makers of the world.  In other words, restaurants now have to provide a full sensory experience.

As a result, a whole new generation of restaurants, cafes, bars, and clubs is born. With interiorsthatnourish your senses as much as the food nourishes your body.

Here are some of the most remarkable restaurant interiors in Montreal. Each uniqueand true the core DNA of their brand. Oh, and the food is really really good, too.

10. Tommy

Where: 200 Notre-Dame St W

Why you should go: It's easy to walk into an "Instagram" cafe and roll your eyes at the gimmicky and try hard nature of the interior. But places like Tommy restore my faith. Although this place is seriously Instagram worthy, it doesn't feel like it's trying too hard. With the help of the original moldings and frame of this Old Port building, it's all charm.

9. Agrikol

Where: 1844 Amherst St

Why you should go: This Haitian restaurant is designed to look and feel as tropical and spicy as the incredible food they serve. When you check out Agrikol's geotag on Instagram you can find hundreds of bathroom selfies in their palm tree adorned bathroom. And that's how you know it worked.

8. Restaurant Melisse

Where: 719 William St

Why you should go: With an interior designed by the well-known Atelier Lovasi, this Old Port spot is the ideal place for that all-girl brunch you've been planning. With a washed-out color palette and hints of industrial detailing and textures, this space perfectly balances a masculine and feminine energy.

7. Perles Et Paddock

Where: 403 Rue des Seigneurs

Why you should go: This Griffintown brunch spot is relatively new and unique because it's built from a space which used to be a garage. It's been entirely transformed into a modern, airy space, adorned with plants and perfectly dimmed lighting. You can't really get more Insta ready than this.

6. LOV

Where: 464 McGill St

Why you should go: Specializing in vegan and vegetarian meals this Montreal resto already has two downtown locations and is set to open a third in Laval this month. The decor is fresh and vibrant, just like the food, and will definitely nurture your senses as much as the food will nurture your belly.

5. SSENSE Cafe

Where: 418 rue Saint Sulpice

Why you should go: Montreal Luxury E-comm shop SSENSE just moved their flagship store - which was located a stone throws away from the new one - and have created a 4-story immersive shopping experience. On the top floor, you will find the SSENSE Cafe, which has already set itself apart with its brutalist style concrete interior and minimalism. Check it out, they close at 9PM Thursday-Saturday.

4. Darling

Where: 4328 St Laurent Blvd

Why you should go: This place really plants heaven. But with rustic and touches of copper, leather, and wood, the greenery really bring everything together. This is a great spot for a quick coffee or drink in the evening.

3. Restaurant Iberica

Where: 1450 Peel Street

Why you should go: This Spanish restaurant is on a WHOLE other level. Seriously even the facade of the restaurant is so jaw-dropping you can't help but do a double take walking down Peel street. This is definitely one of the more upscale spots on the list, but worth it for a special occasion or dinner.

2. Boho Mtl

Where: 200 Notre-Dame St W

Why you should go: This Old Port restaurant is a speakeasy meets tropical underground grotto, resulting in the most perfect date spot ever. Their handcrafted drinks are sweet and tropical and some even come with popsicles. So you might just want to Instagram your drinks instead of space.

1. Le Blossom Bar

Where: 1101 Boul de Maisonneuve E

@leblossombarembedded via

Why you should go: Opened back in late 2017, this is a truly unique bar right in downtown Montreal that serving fresh handrolls and Japanese inspired dishes along with handcrafted cocktails under a REAL flowering tree. With touches of wood, marble, and metal space feels modern, yet still warm and inviting.
