Throughout the cold months of winter, our province has a lot of awesome things to discover. Quebec City is one of those places that just excused charm and beauty, no matter what the season. Situated on the splendid Terrasse Dufferin Boardwalk and overlooking the St. Lawrence River and next to the famous Chateau Frontenac, lives Quebec City's iconic toboggan ride that lets you see the city as you slide down a mountain.
This winter ride is more than a typical tobogganing experience; the century-old slide is one of the most unique attractions in Quebec. The familiar structure has been a staple for Quebec residents.
The slide appeared on the Dufferin Terrace in 1884 and a few years later the iconic Château Frontenac opened up. The slide closed in 1981 but luckily for us, it reopened in 1992 and has been a source of winter fun in Quebec ever since.
Surrounded by breathtaking views, this epic slide will get all of your senses tingling as you hit a speed of up to 70 km/hour while shooting down a hill. Screams, laughs and frozen tears guaranteed!
Participants can whip down the hill alone or with up to 4 people per toboggan, making this an epic activity to do with your friends or that special someone in your life.
Open from now until March, depending on the weather, you can experience the glory of old school tobogganing for yourself.
There are different packages to pick from, all of which have different rates. From individual rides with hot chocolate packages ($3-$7) to 4 person slides ($10) and even group packages for 20 people or more. This tobogganing paradise has it all!
Not only is this a thrilling activity to take part in but during the night time, it also happens to be ultra-romantic, making this the perfect idea for a date.
Warm-up this winter on this blazing hill of thrills in Quebec City, just make sure you dress accordingly!
