- If you're looking to escape the city with a winter road trip to a Christmas Village near Montreal, look no further.
- North Pole, NY is a year-round Christmas town with adorable gingerbread-like houses, rides and all.
- The best part is it's less than 2 hours from Montreal and a perfect excuse to see Upstate New York under a blanket of snow.
Is anyone else ready to go full-tilt Christmas? Because, for me, as soon as those first flakes of snow start to fall, I've got Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" blasting in my apartment and I'm dreaming of my next Chirstmas Village visit.
What can I say? I'm a festive femme.
I think one of the best things about the holiday season is this tradition of hanging lights and whole communities coming together to try and make the cold and sometimes dreary winter months merrier.
Which is clearly what they are up to at North Pole, New York, where they've got a whole Santa's Village, complete with a workshop.
The little village of gingerbread-looking houses are strung up with lights and they run Yuletide Family Weekends, as well as Breakfast with Santa and nightly walks through their Village of Lights.
Plus they run interactive shows like a parade, and they've got a bunch of rides you can enjoy year-round, including the Candy Cane Express train, classic coasters and the Christmas Tree Ride where you spin around in a Christmas tree ornament-looking ball of fun!
The Christmas Village at North Pole, NY, includes Santa's House, the Reindeer Barn, Santa's Bake Shop, Santa's Toy Maker and more, totalling 10 unique and adorable little houses.
The Village of Lights will be running from 4:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. on December 8, 15, 22, 23 and 26-30, 2019. Entrances close at 7 p.m.
The Yuletide Family Weekends are really special and memorable for kids who get a chance to partake in activities like trimming the tree with Santa's helpers or getting a surprise visit from Santa, right to your lodge. Plus, the kids all take home a little gift from Santa before the weekend is done. Learn more about the Yuletide Family Weekends here.
