Unconfirmed Sighting Suggests Dangerous BC Murder Suspects Might Be Nearing Quebec

Two men, 19-year-old Kam McLeod and 18-year-old Bryer Schmegelsky, who are suspected of three murders in BC, have been on the run for well over two weeks now. They have been spotted numerous times in the last week.

A confirmed sighting of the suspects was made in Saskatchewan, and the two were later believed to be in a small Manitoba town, a tip which engendered a manhunt for the two men.

It is now possible that the pair has made its way to Ontario. OPP have received a tip from a caller who believes he saw the men "driving a white vehicle through a construction site near Highway 11 in Kapuskasing, Ont., at around 10:30 a.m," according to Global News.

A series of suspicious murders occurred in mid-July in B.C. On July 15, a couple was found dead on the Alaska Highway. The couple had been shot.

A few days later, on July 19, Leonard Dyck was found dead. At the same time, two teenagers, 19-year-old Kam McLeod and 18-year-old Bryer Schmegelsky, were believed to be missing.

Police confirmed that the pair were in Saskatchewan, and received a "credible tip" that placed the pair in a remote community in Manitoba.

Now, they are investigating an uncomfirmed sighting of the two suspects in Ontario. For now, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have not verified that the sighting was, indeed, of the two murder suspects.

According to Global News, the tip is being treated as a sighting of "two suspicious males."

These "suspcious males" were spotted in the northern Ontario town of Kapuskasing, about a 4-hour car ride from the Quebec border. The caller believes that these two men are the murder suspects Schmegelsky and MacLeod.

Police are not excluding the possibility that the two suspects died in the woods.
