Video Showing Crazy Riot Erupting At Quebec Music Festival

First years are rough.
Video Showing Crazy Riot Erupting At Quebec Music Festival

In case you missed it, Montreal had added a brand new music festival to the city's insanely saturated annual roster.

Festival Santa Teresa went down over this past May long weekend, and it promised a ton of local and international acts in a cool setting - so very Montreal.

Nick Murphy (aka Chet Fake), Feist, Heartstreets and more were all on the bill - and to be honest, I'm quite choked I missed it. The FOMO is real!

That was until later last night when videos started circling social media of a mini-riot that broke out after one of the international artists was forced to cancel their set having not let pass through customs.

Lil Uzi Vert, a young rapper out of Philidelphia, failed to pass through Canadian customs, and the Festival Santa Teresa organizers only announced this to the crowd at 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

About 100 audience members and fans of the rapper went a little wild and started to vandalize the music festival set-up! A real shame.

Audio equipment and municipal property was the target of the audience's angst over not seeing Lil Uzi Vert. Here's a video of some fans jumping the security gates and knocking over speakers.

@IamAkademiks tonight at Santa Teresa Quebec, it started off with Trippie Redd and Ski Mask cancelling, then we wait for Lil Uzi Vert who was supposed to come on at 9:30. At 11:30, this happens. pic.twitter.com/hrWwk0jN2S

Supposedly, Festival Santa Teresa ran into a few cancellations and snags in their inaugural edition of the new music festival. Trippie Red and Ski Mask also canceled their sets over the weekend, and when Lil Uzi Vert's cancellation was announced 2-hours after he was set to start, obviously fans were pissed.

Still, it's worth mentioning that this type of stuff happens all the time. Sometimes artists can't make it into town for a variety of reasons, and this is far from the first time that board crossing hiccups have caused a cancellation.

I don’t understand why they booked trippie redd knowing he doesn’t have a passport. Whoever did the booking on that show is a scam artist

This type of behavior at any music festival or event should never be tolerated. Things happen, guys. Take it easy! Artists and organizers try their best and it doesn't always work out as planned.

Sorry to the Festival Santa Teresa organizers - this is unfortunate for their first year.

Police say that nobody was injured, and no arrests have been made. They are looking for "information about the event", though.

Better luck next year, Festival Santa Teresa!
