Ellen DeGeneres brought her speaking tour to Montreal's Bell Centre last night. The event included a Q&A with Montrealers in attendance.

A video submitted to MTLBlog by Instagram user @annabellepou shows the moment DeGeneres arrived on stage carrying a Montreal Canadiens jersey emblazoned with her name and the #1. The crowd welcomed her with a standing ovation.

DeGeneres even brought along her wife, actress and philanthopist Portia de Rossi, who at one point reluctantly appeared at the edge of the stage (presumably at Ellen's behest) before quickly retreating again backstage. This video also comes from @annabellepou:

The moment was nevertheless an adorable display of affection. The famous celebrity couple is renowned for the mutual respect and support that Ellen and Portia demonstrate in their public appearances together.

The American TV host, actress, mogul, and philanthropist has been recently stepping beyond the confines of her popular talk show Ellen. This tour is only the latest endeavour. Last year, Ellen partnered with Netflix to release a one-episode comedy special, Relatable.

Ellen has reportedly felt stifled by the image she has curated on her show. There have even been rumours that she plans on ending Ellen within the coming years.

We're just thankful that Ellen decided to make Montreal one of the stops on her tour. Keep your eyes peeled today, Montrealers! Who knows where Ellen and Portia will be spending their day?

Stay tuned!
