Almost exactly 50 years ago, on Feb. 7, 1964, The Beatles crossed the pond to North America for the first time. Landing in New York City to play The Ed Sullivan Show, the band embarked on their first North American tour and Beatlemania became an international phenomenon.
Months later, the Fab Four traveled to our beautiful Montreal to play two shows at the Forum on September 8th and 16th. All of Montreal went mad for the Beatles, welcoming them with scores of fan as soon as they got off the plane and packing the seats for their shows.
The foursome played two shows (on same night!) at 4 and 8:30 pm. The afternoon show sold a solid 9,000 seats, while the evening totally sold out at 11,000. To blow your mind even more: tickets were $ 5.50 and $3.50, to see The Beatles!
Take a glimpse into Beatlemani in Montreal with the video and photos below!
Real talk people, the smiles are cute, but The Beatles definitely weren't the hottest bunch.
When The Beatles are in town, you line up. So say the gods of music.
Switch the clunky camera for a smartphone and you have a One Direction concert pic on your hands.
What you don't know is that the girl in the middle just peed for pants.
And this girl's mind literally just imploded.
Back when musicians were classy, and wore suits at a concert.
Luckiest bitch, in the world.
The Beatles taking a picture with wax-statue Beatles? So meta.
